Dr. Ricardo Salgado, MD

This was the worst doctors visit of my entire life. I came in with difficulty breathing and was stressed. The nurse didn’t ask me what medications I was on or even what I took today. I waited 30 minutes which was fine, but when the nurse came back she didn’t say anything to me, she just started setting up some breathing equipment the doctor had ordered, but if she asked my medications she would have known I already did a treatment before coming in. The doctor came in and also didn’t ask me my medications, I explained I had shortness of breath. Two minutes later he asks me if I have shortness of breath like he wasn’t even listening to me. He asked why I kept shaking my head, and I said it was because I have limited motion to my right and he was standing all the way to my right so it was hard to keep looking over to him. He was chewing gum the whole time and I apologized that it was distracting to me so I was rambling. I said Ive had a bad morning and am obviously short of breath, so… waiting 30 minutes felt like a long time (really 40 by the time the nurse finished and he actually came in). He said 30 minutes was not a long time. Did not acknowledge a single feeling or concern I had. He shoved his chair in and turned away his computer in such a dismissive way and didn’t care about my health, let alone bedside manner. He was towering over me crossing his arms and chewing his gum and called me rude. I said I was being honest that I was feeling uncomfortable. I’ve never felt so mentally unsafe all while having breathing trouble. I was crying in the waiting room with no help other than being provided the phone number for patient relations. I hope he figures out some bed side manners or finds a new career. I would give negative stars if I could.
