I was surprised to see any good reviews of this man. Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Complete lack of kindness. I tried to express not wanting to continue a medication that had brought on some serious side effects and was told “that’s not that serious.” It was serious to me just not to him apparently. I mean it’s not his body right? Complete lack of empathy for a patient with a chronic condition. I sincerely hope you avoid Dr. Babayan at all costs.

I was diagnosed with intermediate prostate cancer by my local urologist who recommended rapid action. Sought second opinions from specialists in four Boston hospitals including a medical oncologist, a radiologist and four surgeons (two who preferred robotic-assisted laproscopic surgery, one who preferred open surgery and one who had no preference). For a variety of reasons, I ruled out non-surgical approaches. I then chose a surgeon based on experience, reputation and trust. I chose Dr, Babayan because although he has been performing this procedure for years he patiently answered all my questions, fully explained potential risks and results, and took the time to make me feel as though I was a person as well as a patient. I trusted him. I also liked the way he interacted with his team. My robot-assisted radical prostatectomy was successful and I was impressed by the overall care and concern shown by Dr. Babayan and his team, his medical colleagues and all the staff at BMC. I was… released 36 hours after checking in for the procedure, spent several weeks at home recovering and, after two follow-up visits to Dr. Babayan, have negligible PSA levels. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Dr. Babayan has treated me for 30 years now for a variety of what proved to be conditions that ranged from non-threatening to serious, but readily treatable, to the removal of a cancer that could have curtailed my life. He is clearly dedicated, knowledgable, hard-working, a very skillful surgeon bent on the most non-invasive techniques and technologies to effect successful results. I am completely satisfied there is no better urologist available in the country.
