Dr. Richard R Babkes, MD

Incompetent and rude staff. Can not make a proper referral; slams window in patient's face. Cold and cruel.

Dr. Babkes has not tried to get to the root of my peripheal neuropathy. The cause is labeled as unknown in my record. I have contacted him directly through my chart and call have not gotten any responses. I am on a search for a new neurologist today and my primary care and cardiologist strongly advised me to ask more questions.

I made an appointment with Dr. Babkes to have a nerve test done after shoulder surgery - The person that performed the test was wonderful, however, when he called Dr. Babkes to 'read' the results it felt like he was bothered to get the call. Dr. Babkes was rude and dismissive when I asked a question. He told me 'go back to the doctor who referred you if you have questions - I already gave you the result of your test'.

Dresses well, smiles, shakes your hand and shoves you out of the door without basic exam sometimes saying you will be just fine. Way past his Sell By date!

Dr. Babkes is a wonderful doctor. I first visited him three years ago. He correctly diagnosed my problem & prescribed the medicine which has since managed my illness. Dr. Babkes is knowledgeable, thorough, polite & very helpful. After moving from MD to VA, I kept visiting Dr. Babkes. This year, my employer switched health insurers, & the new plan only covers doctors in VA. The previous plan had covered Dr. Babkes. It didn't occur to me that the new one might not. When I went to my most recent appointment & informed the receptionists of my changed insurance, they discovered that Dr. Babkes was "out of network"; I'd have to pay out-of-pocket. When Dr. Babkes learned of the problem, he immediately offered to see me AT NO COST! He examined me, renewed my prescriptions & advised me on finding a neurologist in VA. I am very grateful to Dr. Babkes for generously helping when I had made a foolish mistake. He is helpful & caring, plus experienced & competent. I strongly recommend Dr. Babkes!

Thanks to this wonderful doctor I regained my ability to walk. He diagnosed the problem after two other doctors missed it, and got me seen quickly by a neurosurgeon which I couldn’t have done on my own. I can never say thank you enough times. He went out of his way to help me.

My visit with Dr. Babkes was a very positive experience. He gave me a thorough exam and spent a great deal of time with me. He was extremely patient, kind, and made sure I fully understood his diagnosis, my options, and his instructions. He is a great doctor and he has an excellent and reassuring bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

Worst Doc I've ever been to. Runs his practice like a fast food restaurant. Get the patient in and get them out quickly. Stay far, far away from this doctor. You've been warned!

Dr. Babkes was warm and welcoming. He listen closely to my list of symptoms. He performed a very thorough exam testing muscles, balance and the effects of stress on symptoms. He explained his diagnose in a manner that I could understand. He mentioned medicine available but thought it not necessary. I highly recommend this doctor. Very professional with good bedside manner.

Dr. Babkes has a way with patients. He listens and answers the questions with great knowledge. He is very positive and sincere. I have been his patient for approx. two years and trust his judgement and treatment.
