Dr. Richard Alan Blumenthal, MD

We have been going here for several years for both my children and the office has always been able to get us in last minute for ear infections or whatever it may be. Dr. Richard & Melanie Blumenthal takes 110% of their time to go over the diagnosis, what to do to make it better, he/she will even show us on their laptop pictures of the scenario to help us understand. He has always referred us to a specialist when we felt a concern. As for the front office girl, she never greets you. Never says hello. Even when you go to check out, i have always had to ask "is that it?" or "the doctor said he printed something for me" She never guides you from begining to end to make it feel pleasant. A simple, "how was your visit? ok we will see you in 3 months" I means say something! When making appointments or following up on something, it feels like its almost a burden for her and you feel it through the phone. I love these doctors, but as the old saying goes "the front office is the face of the… office" Its our first impression.

I have been going to Dr Blumenthal for a few years now and although the doctors themselves are good, the office and staff are far from good. First they are rude and respond with an attitude when asked questions. Recently I went and my son needed to get vaccinated. He was very scared and worried and started to act up. Well the nurse told him to be a ggod bot otherwise he'd get a shot. I was surprised to hear that from her because regardless of his behavior he was getting his shot. Well when it was time he freaked and she said "Well you didnt listen so I have to give you a shot!" He went balistic and I couldnt believe it. In addition to that, regardless of how early you are for your appointment you still wait an hour to be placed in a room plus another 30 minutes after that to see the doctor. Then they spend less than 5 minutes with you and your child. One time I picked the earliest appointment and the entire staff showed up 30 minutes late!

In the last several years of being with Dr Blumenthals office, I have been unable to get an appointment with them when my child was in need. In all cases I had to take my child to Urgent care. I find it appauling that I have a primary care physican I can never get an appointment to see.
