Dr. Richard Dennis Byrnes, DO

He was the best Doctor I ever had to date. He was my primary care doctor for several years before I moved out of the area. He always took his time and showed he really cared. His wife was a wonderful caring and patient nurse as well. The ladies at the desk were always kind and helpful. It was such a peaceful office. I miss the place.

I called as a new patient to schedule an appointment and the receptionist was not very nice to me. When she asked my name, I started to say im going to be a new patient and my name is..... and before I could even say my name she started talking over me. Her tone was rude and cold. She stated the Dr. will not accept me as a new patient unless he has my medical records. I do not have any, she said I could use my pediatric records, which I don't have access to any of that, being my age and not really going to drs as a child. She said the Dr. refuses to see anyone without medical records. I simply asked how can you do this to people and she said Im not trying to argue with you.(which I wasn't trying to argue, anyone would want to know why they would deny you for something like that.) I simply wanted an explanation because I have never heard something like this in my life. She said those are his rules. I don't need to go to an office where the staff is rude to begin with and they make… ridiculous rules. I should be able to go to any Dr. I choose. ( I did not get to see the Dr. but I had to give them a rating or it wouldn't let me put my review in)

This practice is what one would hope a Doctor's practice to be! I have been a patient since I'm 17 or so, (I'm 58 years old now), and I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment. If I'm sick and call in the morning, they'll find a way to get me in that day! I may have to wait for 20 minutes or so, however, that's a small price to pay. I have always found Dr. Byrnes to be caring, thorough, and compassionate. Additionally, he has seen me through many phases and medical issues and has a thorough understanding of my condition. Finally, Anyone who has had experience with office has found a warm friendly staff who is helpful and efficient.

I've been going to Dr Byrnes for years. He tries not to over medicate and encourages more homeopathic approaches when possible and reasonable.

The above comment is ignorant, and far from the truth. I have been a patient of Dr. Byrnes for over 30 years. He and his staff are great, and VERY friendly! Dr. Byrnes is one of the last few doctors who will take his time and listen to you, help you, make appropriate advice, and help you in any way possible. He is not in a rush to get you in and out of his exam room so that he can pump through as many people as possible to make more money. His wife is the office manager and a graduate level nurse. She is also very friendly, and takes her time to say hello and help in any way that she can. If you're looking for a great old school family doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Byrnes.
