Dr. Richard John Claridge

Had knee replacement in Jan 2018. Dr. Claridge said at my age(80) it would take about one year to heal. He was right on. Today is one year later and doing very good. He also repaired Karens(wife) broken ankle. Really busted out of the hinge points. She was told by Drs. in Oregon, where this occured, she might never wear high heels again. They were wrong. She has no lasting after effect. Dr. Claridge did a wonderful job resetting and repairing her ankle.

I've always been very happy with my doctors at Mayo - until today's appointment with Dr. Claridge. He seemed totally uninterested in my problem and left me with no helpful path forward. His interpersonal skills are awful - no eye contact just very chilly and distant.

Claridge was nice enough, but the second he realizes he won't make any money from a joint replacement he has nothing to offer you. He apparently is a one trick pony, joint replacement. Almost nothing about general bone and joint health.

Dr. Claridge was my surgeon back in 1992 when he worked at VGH here in Vancouver BC.( I broke both of my heels and ankles in a fall from a balcony while washing windows). I found Dr. Claridge to be warm and very re-assuring and most of all very confident. Well, he did a wonderful job of my right heel and ankle doing a "subtalar arthrodesis and bone graft". Following an easy recovery I no longer limped in pain and just as he predicted...I would stop compensating for my left foot once my right foot was properly fixed. I had 22 great years because of Dr. Claridges skill. I just wish he was still here in BC because arthritis has slowly developed in my left foot and it took 8 months for me to even talk to a doctor here at St. Paul's foot and ankle clinic and that doctor wasn't even a surgeon. That doctor decides who gets to see a surgeon. Then there is the foot surgeons wait list. I probably won't have this fixed before 2019! I would love for Dr. Claridge to come back to Vancouver!

Dr. Claridge was chosen by us to perform my husband's hip replacement surgery based on the satisfaction of a colleague with similar procedure. He was informative, not pushy and very skilled. He has a great sense of humor and always allowed us to ask questions. The surgery went well and his team was amazing as my husband's hip replacement was not an easy one. We appreciated the same attentive care on follow up visits. We could not be happier!

Probably hi is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. No bed manners, rude, extremely disappointed.

I have seen several doctors at Mayo Clinic and all have been very professional and great doctors. Dr. Claridge is very arrogant and rude. People come from all over the country to see the doctors at Mayo and Dr. Claridge is not worth the trip. .

He does't listen to the patient.

I think that he was too quick in making decision's on a problem.
