Dr. Richard K Dyer, MD

Dr. Dyer is a terrible psychiatrist. I saw him a few years ago for anxiety issues. He put me on 4mg of Klonopin per day (yes, a lot). It was helping my anxiety while I was also seeing a therapist to help me manage as well. Without warning or explanation, he just stopped my medication all at once. At first, I just agreed because I thought that he knew better than I did and this must be an ok practice. I had the most awful withdrawals. When I called the agency emergency after hours line because I felt like I was going crazy, for some reason the operator put me through to Dr. Dyer’s home (I was hoping to speak to someone on call, not Dr. Dyer himself). When I explained how I was feeling and what was going on, he reprimanded me and told me to never call him again. I was really hurting. He should have weaned me off the medication and empathized with my situation. Instead, He was rude, unprofessional, and quite awful. If you have a choice, pick anyone but him.
