Dr. Richard Eiferman, MD

Under poor management. I received a bill from over two years ago. When I inquired what happened that I did not receive this sooner the person on the phone admitted his office failed to bill patients. I then learned that I had another bill that went to a collection agency although his office never sent me the bill and I had been to the office and paid my balance. Very shady to honest people!!!!!!!!

this all occured 12 years ago but i was unaware i was able to review a doctor and his inept treatment of me. The story is long and convuluted , but briefly he talked me into having a corneal transplant in the same eye i had had 2 retinal detachments. The corneal transplant was one of the most painful things i have endured in my life and i am now 66 years old. He left the sutures in the cornea which left them standing straight up an poking me in my eye lid something he called rabbit ears. After complaining for awhile abotu loss of vision and his taking me to his lasor treatment center to open holes he said so that more light would reach my retina, i finally am given the correct diagnosis by one of his students. My intraocural pressure was so great it was destroying my optic nerve. By the time they started treatment with eye drops it was too late and my optic nerve was dead. He immediatedly shuffled me off to another ophthalmogist, to keep from dealing with his mistake. I wish i had sued… but by the time my emotional distress was over the period in which you can file suit had passed.

Dr. Eiferman's credentials and history speak volumes. He's brilliant--college at sixteen, medical school at twenty, a full professor in his thirties. What else could a patient want? If, for some odd reason, you care more about a doctor's smiles than your eyesight, he will give you those as well. He is extremely focused on your condition and treating it. If you are concerned about your sight, you will see him above all others.

I had a disease in the eye that may have required cornea replacement. Needless to say, I was upset and had a lot of pain in my eye. I found the office and doctor very courteous. I had to back 2 times a week, for 3 weeks to see if the prescription I was given was working. I suppose I was a work in. I was very grateful for the care I received. I really like Dr Eiferman, and felt he was very knowledgeable in my treatment.

After experiencing complications that have yet to be resolved nearly a year after my surgery, I've found the staff to be defensive. "You're vision's not that bad" I was told by one of the techs. Following the surgery, I still have an astigmatism that causes poor vision in lower light (can't read menus, directions, print, etc) that still needs to be corrected. I keep getting "let's talk again next month." The office staff doesn't want to take messages and always asks me to "call back tomorrow to see if he's available." It's getting old and I wish I never would have had the surgery. Worst decision I've ever made.

When I call to make an appointment w/this Physician, Everyone on the phone was nice, When I got there, Totally differnt experience..Machine (phoropter) was not working, His assistant had the WORST BEDSIDE Manner I have ever experienced @ a Physicans office in my life... I was given a written presciption that was not correct for my eyes,, Twice,, When I went back to speak with him concerning my prescription, I was told by his assistant that he Does not have anything to talk to me about, I was just brushed off, Not Only was my prescription incorrect according to Eyemart, It did not even have a date on it.. so Eyemart could not fill it... Also I work @ a hospital, We had a Health Fair, When I approached The Eye Care Booth of Doctors, I showed them my written prescription\ They to looked at it and shooked their heads.. I now ONLY Left This Dr.s Office feeling like something was not quite right about my WHOLE VISIT,, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE OF COLOR TO VISIT THIS PLACE,, I recieved a… bill which shows Were my Ins paid for their (Lack of Customer SVR AND CARE), there was a charge on it, that I feel was incorrect.. I called back to the office to speak with someone in billing about my Bill, Check this part out, I was passed to two People who had no Clue why I was even Calling everyone Kept putting me on Hold. When It came to the 3rd Person her Name was DARLENE, she attempt to explain to me why I was getting this Bill come to find out from her that She is Not even in BIlling, I than Asked her than Why am I speaking to you, She stated and I quote, They transfered the call to me, When I ask her Why she stated I DONT KNOW.. WOW!!! ...
