Dr. Richard I Fogel, MD

I would just like to thank Dr.Fogel and his staff.A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with a Congenital heart defect.I have never been more impressed with my care and treatment.I also have Crohn's disease and have been hospitalized and treated by many,many doctors over the last 17 years.Dr.Fogel was caring and comforting during the most traumatic time in my life.I had just had my daughter Sophie two weeks prior and was shocked and traumatized by the fact that I had literally died and was resuscitated but after meeting Dr.Fogel in the hospital and having him take the time to explain my condition and what the plan and procedures involved would be I have never had any other Dr take an invested interest in my well being personally and professionally.The area of care that impressed me the most was a few months into my after care I had insurance issue and had no coverage or the means to pay for my care.I was still emotionally wrecked after the whole incident that I thought for sure I… would not find any doctor to care for my high risk situation with out insurance or the means to pay for my on going care.I have since reestablished my coverage and have insurance but during the period while uninsured..Dr.Fogel and his staff went above and beyond the call of duty calling to see how I was doing and reassuring me that my well being was more important and payment could be worked out but my health was always the paramount issue.I have had life threatening situation's arise in the past with other facilities and Doctors but payment was always the first and more important issue even before my well being or the outcome, if care was not provided.I know how expensive my care is and will be but Dr.Fogel has always put my feeling and my health first and foremost. That means a lot to a 34year old wife and mother to two beautiful girls.I want to say thank you from the literal bottom of my HEART.Who would have thought that i would be lucky enough to have a cardiologist that actually has a heart.All my love to Dr.Fogel and his amazing staff

I was born with an irregular heart beat. The irregular beat caused no problems in early life. As I aged, the beat began to become noticeable, to the point of discomfort by age 58. At age 62, under the care of Dr Fogel, it is under control and no longer a life quality issue. Thank You Dr Fogel!

Excellent from first visit to the end.Had ablation surgery, and everything went perfectly.Dr Fogel spent a lot of time with me to discuss options, the procedure, etc.

This doctor works for the THE CARE group. They have an impressive sign in their office about their mission statement, and how much they care. The fact is, they couldn't care less. I tried to schedule an appointment 5 months in advance. They could not accommodate that. So, a couple of months went by and I was able to make an appointment by phone. Then 2 days before the appointment, I am told that my appointment has been cancelled because the doctor will not be showing up. This was very problematic for me, as this appointment was scheduled near the end of the year and I am on a high deductible health plan. For the current year, all of my deductible has been paid. This means that my appointment would have been paid in full by insurance. But because I was cancelled, I will now have to pay $500 out of pocket for an appointment next year. Why the heck do you think I was making the appointment? He couldn't care anything about me.

Had to find another cardiologist as Dr. Fogel's staffing and scheduling was to say the least unacceptable. The last three appt. were scheduled by Dr. Fogel's staff. Each time when we got there, they said...you don't have an appt. today. Give me a break. So, we left and went to another surgeon. He's supposed to be one of the best if you can get in to see him. His appt. are high and he also teaches at a university. Maybe that is why he is so busy. Too sad!! We would have loved to stay with him.
