Dr. Richard Denis Folan, MD

At 59 my internist refused to order a colonoscopy even though i was bleeding and had stools like pencils. Lucky for me, I knew Richard personally. I called and was given a colonoscopy within two days. Stage 3 colorectal cancer! Thanks to Richard I survived. My team of doctors at MD ANDERSON said i would have not survived if i had waited the six months the internist insisted on.

I had been going to another Dr.'s office and been sick for almost a year. I am 5'4" and weighed 80 lbs. No one could tell me what was wrong. By this time I thought it was in my head. Finally, ended up in the hospital and was also 4 pints low on blood. I was referred to Dr. Folan. Dr. Folan was amazing. He immediately took me in for tests, prescribed medications and ordered blood. After a year of suffering I was finally feeling better. Dr. Folan literally saved my life and I will be forever grateful. Looked at $25 prep kit when I got home and I threw away half of the stuff they made me buy.

This office tries to pressure you into buying a Colonoscopy Prep Kit for $25. The only medicine in this kit is Perrigo Polyethylene Glycol 3350 8.3 Oz that sells for $11.58 on Amazon. The other contents of this kit are unnecessary as you already have what you need at home. They even have a diaper, wipes and a water bottle in this kit. Come on!! Overcharge of $13.42 for unnecessary items.

I had another very comfortable experience with Dr. Folan and the entire team this morning on my 5th procedure since I turned 50.

Good clear communication from Dr. Folan. Post procedure, Dr. Folan spent several minutes reviewing his findings with my wife and this provided a level of comfort for her. Staff was excellent! Courteous, communicative, demonstrated interest in me as a patient, included a next day follow-up telephone call to check on my recovery. Excellent patient care!

From initial appointment scheduled to discharge after procedure, this business does it right. Friendly,knowledgeable staff put you at ease and and everything is done on time and in an orderly manner. Great job!
