Dr. Richard Alfonse Fortunato, DO

I wouldn't recommend seeing this surgeon. I waited over 30 minutes and the minute he walked in the door he seemed like he was in a rush to move on to his next patient already. He had horrible bedside manners; I felt like he was getting impatient with me each time I tried to respond to his questions as if he was only looking for a yes or no answer. I don’t expect a surgeon to be warm and fuzzy, but I would minimally expect a smile, exchanging of names, and listening to my concerns with some level of interest. I even asked the nurse as soon as he left if he was upset with me and her short response was, "No, that's just his personality," not realizing how he came off was unacceptable. The cherry on top was my insurance company was billed $705 for this less than 5 min. diagnoses and to tell me I had a tear. Hoping I can help others avoid both a costly mistake (depending on your deductible) and a less than pleasant surgeon with little interest in your problems.

Dr. Fortunato is a wonderful doctor. He has great bedside manner, calls it like it is - up front, informative, and provided perfect results. Highly recommend him!

I can not say enough about Dr. Fortunato. He is amazing- an expert at what he does. His office staff is friendly, personable and remembers your name and your situation. This means so much to a patient. I am blessed to be in his care. He has a true gift! And always has the best interest of his patient as a priority.

I was very pleased with the results of the surgery Dr. Fortunateo did to treat my diverticulitis. He kept me informed during the entire process of what had happened, how to fix it, and how I would feel afterwards. I had a quick recovery as well.

Overal great experience

Dr. Fortunato is a credit to his profession. He took the time to explain about my surgery not only to me but my daughters also. His kindness and concern on my behalf was much appreciated! Kudos to Dr. Fortunato. We were fortunate to have found him.

Dr. Fortunato is one of the best doctors we have every had. He is very knowledgeable and thorough with the diagnosis of health situations. We have referred him to two other parties both who have used him for surgery and treatment. They too are very pleased.

There are no words I can use to state how happy and lucky I am to have Dr. Fortunato. He saved my life! I had a flesh eating disease, He worked a normal day, spent 6 hours with me inSurgery, briefed my wife at 2:00am, worked regular schedule next day, and spent 6 more hours with me in surgery again. This is a bug people normally die from, or loose arms and legs, with in a few months I was up, and back to work, this is due to his excellent work. Thanks
