Dr. Richard David Froude, MD

As a divorced bi neurodivergent woman, I feel seen, heard, understood, accepted, and supported. I don’t feel judged or critiqued, rather Dr. Froude treats me as the multifaceted being that I am, providing care that has allowed me to move through some big and scary shifts in my life. He continues to listen, ask relevant and helpful questions, allow space for my sometimes chaotic and ridiculous energy, and continues to provide a professional yet kind experience in each session. I am so grateful that I found his practice in a time when I needed this kind of support. As someone who has sought out mental health professionals and medical intervention on and off for the past thirty years, I have had experience with a wide range of practitioners. Dr. Froude is excellent and I have recommended him to friends and colleagues.

I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Froude for the last two years. After working with some very highly regarded psychiatrists in Denver, I must admit that when searching for a new provider, I had high expectations. Participating in psychotherapy is an act of courage, and a pursuit that is a major investment in your energy and time. After talking to a variety of recommended psychiatrists, I am so happy that I trusted my intuition and that I picked Dr. Froude to be the particular human that I chose to be my guide. Dr. Froude runs his private practice with integrity. He is very prompt in his communication including emails, voicemails, and texts. He makes medication administration/refills hassle free. Dr. Froude has an incredibly diverse and varied background, including strong credentials in academic/traditional psychiatry, so if that is what you are looking for, he will exceed your expectations with his expertise and connections. If you are looking for a more… current, integrative, spiritual, and creative approach to psychotherapy, he is the guy to go to. Immediately! Dr. Froude has an approach that I had never experienced prior to working with him. You will have to experience this for yourself, but every time I walk out of his cozy, safe office, I am a better human being for having worked with him. Dr. Froude displays genuine understanding, empathy, wisdom, and he wholeheartedly listens to your truth. Lucky are we who found him. He also has a knack of meeting you exactly where you are at, gently pushing you if you so choose to accept, while also offering to take things at exactly the pace that you feel comfortable with. He takes into consideration the whole person, rather than a diagnosis or pathology, which has been so refreshing. I am delighted to say that after years of addiction, a variety of mental health conditions, and after being put on major psychiatric medications, I now embody more peace, I live more authentically, and I experience more grace and equanimity than I have in the last 15 years thanks to Dr. Froude.

I never thought I’d find myself leaving a review for a psychiatrist and/or psychologist, but Dr. Froude has been such a positive and powerful influence on my life that I feel compelled to. When I began meeting with Dr. Froude, I was in a troubled spot (as most people would be when seeking out a psychiatrist/psychologist, I’d imagine), and was reluctant to entertain the idea of therapy. But, through his dedication to me, my well being, and a focus on the most important “pillars” in my life, I can truly and honestly say I am now a happy, healthy (mentally and physically), functional, and positive person. I really do not think I’d be where I am now in life without Dr. Froude and his care and expertise. His focus on treating the whole person helped me: 1. Gain the ability to filter out unnecessary distractions and negativities in my life 2. Understand which feelings and emotions serve a healthy purpose which do not 3. Regain and maintain self confidence Though I feel my life is back on… track and things are going my way, I plan to continue seeing Dr. Froude as his advice and frameworks for managing difficulties have proven invaluable. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Froude is an awesome psychiatrist! He is extremely intelligent, caring, empathic, wise, warm, an excellent diagnostician, and easy to work with. He considers the patients needs and allows input from the patient into the treatment plan. He is great with both medications and therapy. He is extremely responsive to texts, emails, and phone calls, getting back to the patient very quickly. Finally, Dr. Froude is highly knowledgable in mood , anxiety, substance abuse , and personality disorders. His office is inviting. I would highly recommend Dr. Froude!!

He is in the wrong profession, No compassion and very little advice. His lack of experience shows big time. He claims he is very busy but don't believe it, Every good Psychiatrist is full and you can't get an appointment, This guy has an open schedule thou he willl claim how busy he is, he's not. Do not give this "doctor" a try, search anywhere else, he is all about the money and will remind you constantly about it.
