Dr. Richard Lawrence Golub, MD

Awful bedside manner with my 4 year old son. We've had 2 eye appointments in the past (with other doctors) since my son wears glasses. Those went fantastic. Dr. Golub was alright and friendly at first, but the girl who did the drops for dilation really upset my son (never an issue before). When Dr. Golub came back in to complete the exam, my son was scared and had a hard time opening his eyes wide enough. Dr. Golub made NO attempt to reassure him or explain what he is doing, no jokes or friendliness. He immediately became very impatient and three times threatened to "do this the hard way and bring Candace in" if he didn't open his eyes more. Of course, this did not help my 4 year old. We had to hold down my son, while he screamed "stop" at the top of his lungs, so the exam could be completed. Then, no high five or any kind of friendliness from the doctor. He may be knowledgeable, but I have never seen a doctor who treats children behave so badly.
