Dr. Richard Paul Goyer JR., MD

The only negative of this doctor is he does not take new gynecology patients so I won't be seeing him again as I was never his patient for gynecology--just during pregnancy. He was so fantastic with me when I was in the hospital during my very high risk pregnancy in 2016 for preterm labor after getting sent by MFM when I was 30 weeks pregnant (I did not end up delivering for another 4 weeks thanks to his help). I remember him spending most of his weekend there in the hospital outside my room at the nurses station being there to answer the nurses or our questions. He really took a patient/individual centered approach and did not treat me like just another number. My care was very tailored and he had very up to date knowledge. Thank you!!!!

I had Dr Goyer deliver my first born. He was calm and reassuring during the most stressful moment in my life. He was very informational leading up to my daughters birth and I highly recommend him

I've gone through plenty of good Ob/Gyn doctors during my lifetime, but Dr. Goyer takes the cake. I've stayed with the Upstate Ob/Gyn practice for almost 10 years because of Dr. Goyer. Unlike many other doctors, he doesn't rush takes his time to thoroughly explain his diagnosis, and even walks you through the process as he takes care of you so that you feel at ease. He was the doctor on call when I had to have emergency surgery, and I truly hope he'll be the doctor on call when I deliver my first baby. Thanks for taking good care of me, Dr. Goyer!

Dr Goyer delivered my son 3 years ago and my daughter recently. He is knowledgeable, caring, and he takes the time to explain what's happening and what to expect. It seems you wait a bit longer in the exam room compared to the other doctors in the practice, but he's so thorough it's worth the short wait.

Dr. Goyer is amazing. He delivered my daughter and was patient, kind, thorough with all of my questions and concerns. Every question concerning pregnancy and not, I felt confident in his answers. I cannot recommend him enough!

He is such an amazing physician. He is very gentle and explains everything in detail. I was so excited that he was the doctor on call to deliver my son, he was great. Highly recommend him, and the whole practice!

I've always had great experiences with Dr. Goyer, and he delivered my first daughter. My concerns have to do with length of time waiting at appointments, in the waiting room, etc; those are scheduling details beyond his control at a very busy practice....

Dr. Goyer is wonderful and not to mention extremely patient. His sense of humor along with his professionalism makes him invaluable to any woman awaiting that long 9 months with all mixed emotions. I highly recommend!

Dr. Goyer delivered my first daughter, and since then, I have returned to him for every annual exam. His bedside manner is upbeat but not overly so, and confident without being arrogant. I especially appreciated the way he asked me, in my first postpartum appointment, how I was feeling emotionally. He clearly gets the connection between physical and mental health and takes the latter seriously. And when I cried in response to his question--I was postpartum, afterall!--he handled it in a very caring manner. I recommend him highly.
