Dr. Richard Seth Haber, MD

I have been seen by Dr. Haber for 3-4 years. He came highly recommended by another doctor I highly regarded. Dr. Haber is very thorough with his exams, with the questions he asks, the patient history he goes through, and you can tell he loves the field he is in. I am one very happy patient.

The star is only so I can post. What a terrible experience. He is a disgrace! I was made ill by the Levothyroxine he prescribed - 101 & 102 degree fever, weakness, no appetite for two weeks! After a week, his nurse returned my desperate call but with no advice from him! He could not have cared less. One of the other patients commented on this site that he must get payoffs for prescribing Synthroid. All I know is the Levothyroxine I was prescribed that made me so ill is another name for Synthroid. Interesting that every bad review is quickly followed by a "glowing" one.

Very unprofessional. I'm allergic to synthroid and have been on NDT for many years since my thyroidectomy. I had been looking for a new endocrinologist for a long time but most only want to prescribe synthroid so I made an appointment, forwarded my medical records and proof of allergic reaction to synthroid and asked to confirm this doctor would prescribe NDT. His office called me back to say he responded "no comment prior to paying for appointment". Needless to say I cancelled!!

He is very focused first on gathering information including a physical exam, then he orders any appropriate tests, then makes an evaluation and recommendations. He did not want to be interrupted or questioned during the data-gathering phase but was very informative and empathetic once he completed his evaluation. He sent a text message, provided detailed office notes and spoke to me by phone. I have confidence in him and appreciate his diligence and interest.

Couldn’t get an appt thyroid much too low but he didn’t care horrible treatment

Dr Haber is reputed to be a top, cutting-edge doctor in his field and I have beenefitted from his science. What was a surprise was how willing he was to take time to answer all the questions I have had from visit to visit and was never dismissive of even my most naive queried.

I am feeling lucky that a friend knew Dr. Haber at Harvard College. H-Bomb notwithstanding, he diagnosed me correctly, explained the problem in a way I could understand and then found me a good thyroid surgeon. All I care about is: Is he a Good Doctor? A-plus. if you want empathy, nice, get a shrink!! I am not being sarcastic.

I noticed a large bump in my neck. We visited a local endocrinologist who after testing gave me a long list of all different diagnosis's that it might be and send me for further testing. After speaking this over with my PCP, he sent us to a two referral agencies who has a list of top specialists in many different fields. They both recommended Dr. Haber. It was a very different experience. Dr. Haber examined me for a while and then knew exactly what it was (none of the scary things the previous doctor had listed). I had two options and he was very helpful, informative, and guiding in helping us choose the one that was a better match for me. He has great bedside manners, is extremely caring, and always explained everything to me in a language that I was able to understand. We we're always seen by him within ten minutes of signing in. After surgery, he followed up with us with Mychart and is very accommodating to the fact that we live out of town. I would recommend him!

Well, it's true, he does talk talk talk and then interrupt when it is your turn. His social skills aren't too good. BUT, If you listen to him carefully, he knows a lot. Bring your questions written on paper and hand them to him. Don't leave until he answers every last one. He will do that, I am sure. He cares about his patients (yes he does) and he is not a get 'em in and get 'em out doctor. Also is considered tops at Mt Sinai.

Dr Haber is a horrible physician and if u are silly enough to believe the 5 starts reviews posted on the web about him, you might jeopardize your health...Took me years to undo the damage Dr Haber did to me. Poor bedside manner, doesn't listen to the patient and incompetent...Also, might be receiving kick backs from Big Phrma to prescribe only Synthoroid.
