Dr. Richard Hill, MD

My wife was seeing him for years. When he was good he was absolutely amazing. Like others have said he is always late or doesnt show. Today he dropped my wife for having Medicare (as a secondary). We have fought with the office about this for the last couple of years, she has other insurance as primary and Medicare as secondary and he has always gotten paid, even the front staff informed him of this. But he said i cant treat you any longer because you have Medicare, she drove almost an hour to get to the appointment, waited 40 minutes as he was late as usual, and was told in the waiting room in front of other patients. Unacceptable.

Dr. Hill lets his office be a hook up spot for his employees with patient files in plain sight and the Board of Medicine was made aware of this with proof, but no disciplinary action has taken place.

Dr. Hill lost his privilege to prescribe controlled substances and is still under investigation. He left me and many other patients not able to get our medicine. He gave me and other patients no notice of his situation. Look him up on Google and you will see his background. NOT GOOD!!!

Doctor Hill is always thorough sensitive my need and takes time to discuss my concerns. Doctor Hill was the provider for my father when he required elder care. He also followed up with my son when he was no longer an adolescent. He found him to be personable. We had a crisis and once again Dr Hill supported our needs until the situation was stable.

I was very lucky to find Dr Hill when I relocated and needed to find new doctors. He listens to what you are saying, and is very friendly/approachable while still very professional. I generally have a VERY hard time with new Dr’s (anyone new lol), but he made me very comfortable. The staff returns calls promptly, is friendly, and will go out of their way to help/accommodate you. Because he IS very busy, you may see complaints of excessive wait times. It does occur quite a bit, but I attribute this to how good he is (large patient roster) and I most definitely consider this slight inconvenience well worth it to be a patient of Dr. Hill’s.

I saw him at a psych center days after I was drugged, robbed, and sexually assaulted by a group of men in a storage unit. When I told him what happened he said that it was my fault because I took a drink from a guy I thought was my friend. After that, he left the building for the night and on his way out bragged to all the patients (some who were detoxing from alcohol) about how he couldn't wait to get home and drink some wine. He is extremely rude, insensitive, self-righteous, and arrogant. I put in a complaint with that psych center and some of the other people on staff said they already knew he was that way. They told me he behaved that way with them sometimes too, and that he actually gets similar complaints from other patients often. Don't waste your time or money with him, it's not worth it - you'll most likely leave feeling worse than you felt before. Doctors like him are in it for the money, not the people.

He enables controlling, gas lighting, abusive treatment from men towards women!

Perverse. He has a license in Chesapeake, but followed me to Va Beach Pysch and held me for 20 days to treat me even though I asked to see another doctor. Extremely unprofessional and disgusting

The wait time is crazy, Dr. Hill is ok, but the patients don't get treated well. The receptionist is rude with customers over the phone as well.

The wait time is generally about an hour, sometimes longer. He does not respond to messages until you have left several. He spends very little time actually listening to patients.
