Went to the doctor because I knew my kid had Strep (others around us have it, shes had it before.) Did the quick test, he was very snippy and only doing things his way. Quick test came negative, but long test was positive. He was rude about the whole situation. I told him that our family had a history of allergic reactions to the penicillin family medications. He then told me that its not hereditary and that he would do what he wanted. I told him that due to our history of the extreme reactions, I wanted nothing in the penicillin family. So, what does he do? Prescribes it- after arguing about it. He (from the reviews on this and other sites) regularly goes against recommendations and has a history of allergic reactions to medications. Go to another doctor.

I have seen doctor Hodge plenty of times, and my advice is: if you have the opportunity to get another doctor, DO!! He’s not bad but isn’t very keen on diagnosing things. One of my many examples is when I had the flu one year and he told me I just needed to take some cough medicine. Went in 2 days later turns out I did have the flu and he got it too. Though the next is not my story, it is quite serious. When my friend was a baby, she had an allergic reaction to a medication. When they went in, doctor hodge said she would be fine. That night they ended up in the emergency room because of the severe allergic reaction. He somehow finds a reason for almost everything to be dismissed. Though there are many reasons you should find a different doctor, these are all I will share. Just ask around, a lot of people know who he is and already know to get a different doctor if they can.
