Dr. Richard Martin Kahn, MD

Dr. Kahn is extremely thorough, methodical, and process-driven. He is easy to talk to and explains everything to you as your visit progresses. At no time do you feel as though you are just another number. I highly recommend him. I would rate him higher, but the rating system goes only to 5 stars...

Hi DR. Kahn,You treated me at St. Mary's ICU. I was withdrawing from alcohol. You are a pulmonologist, thus not qualified to diagnose me with unrelated things. Since I've called billing, I learned that you were deceptive about your diagnoses and likely had the greed of medicine behind your poor recommendations. Even though you told me I had QT & serotonin syndrome, you apparently neglected to put that in your notes. You diagnosed me with QT prolongation which required a number of pricey tests. Since then, I've been billed for an EKG reading by Thomas Ryan, and a pulmonary flow up by peter Bagley. Clearly, anyone who's detoxing will have high or irregular blood pressure. You then told me to stop celexa because you were convinced I had Serotonin Syndrome..Since I didn't think I could take an SSRI in safety, I've been struggling to manage my depression and ptsd. At the time ( in our 10 minutes a day at best) you recommended I start on Cymbalta because you were convinced I had bipolar 2.… Your rational for this was that I reminded you of a female relative with bipolar 2. Well, for the record, you as a pulmonolgist can't diagnose and or prescribe med outside of your specialty.. I don't have either of those diagnoses. Further, you challenged me about my honesty regarding the length of my relapse. I'm glad you guys helped me detox but the bills aren't lining up. As a detox patient, I'm questioning the bill because I was put through multiple useless tests and specialist's readings. Furthermore, not one of your ICU sat with me to discuss ptsd, which is a major trigger for me since my brother who died last year molested me and threatened our saflty. Instead, you told me I was "too highly self-aware," which was code for me trying to outsmart addiction. Just because I've read counseling books and been in grad-school for social work doesn't imply that i can outsmart diction. You insisted that I was too smart, much like a a patient you treated who was previously a physics/ some science guru who died in the process of outsmarting this disease. With the exception of my LOVELY nurse, I was treated without respect and misdiagnosed. Alcohol use disorder was accurate, but everything else I heard was nonsense. Fortunately, I had my phone to record unprofessional conversations and if need be, they'll be included if I don't get my bill reduced. Just another shout out and big kudos to my nurse. She should be honored!rescribe

Dr. Kahn is one of the best physicians I have ever had. He is not only concerned with his medical specialties, but also other problems of the patient which might need to be addressed for the best results to take place with the patient. Based on several years of having him as one of my physicians, I endorse him without reservation.

Dr.kahn is the best pulmonary lung disease doctor .I would still be seeing him ,if I didnt move out of state . plus all the girls in the office are exceptional.
