Dr. Richard Bruce Kasdan, MD

This doctor needs his license revoked. As others have stated, he lies in his notes. He doesn't know how to read an MRI. He puts down other doctors who aren't his colleagues/friends. He covers for the latter and makes excuses for them. He doesn't understand neurology as much as he claims and places blame for symptoms primarily on mental health rather than pursuing physical causes. I was referred to this doctor by my insurance after experiencing gross medical negligence in relation to a brain tumor with a neurosurgeon in the same UPMC hospital system. This doctor should again have his license revoked and be placed under investigation for fraud. It's not merely that his PA is sarcastic and rude and he's not up-to-date with computers and rambles for a long time during the appointment about his being able to still work in his 70s while his colleagues have retired. That alone is bad enough. He's also just very bad at his job. He doesn't actively listen. He repeatedly interrupts, switches… topics, and tries to go off on tangents away from a patient's concerns, especially if he's trying to make excuses and cover for a colleague. In fact, I wouldn't have seen him had I know that he was a close friend/colleague to the previous doctor who put me through and continues to put me through gross medical negligence. He doesn't know how to read an MRI scan that shows mass effect and tumor growth. He won't do necessary tests needed to rule out physical, structural issues related to the nerves and/or refer to physicians who can check vascular. He doesn't believe that thoracic outlet syndrome happens much in reality and refuses to listen since it's not his "thing" when a patient who has been diagnosed with it and clearly has it on scans explains that there is a concern it might be part of the problem. I wish I was kidding. In his after-visit notes, he lies about a patient's health and downplays their symptoms, capabilities, etc.

Worst experience ever. Waited well over an hour only to have him be in the room for less than 10 minutes. The exam was anything but thorough. Spoke negatively towards my current Doctor. The Insurance company found a keeper with this one.

This practice goes above and beyond. I was in the office the next day after calling for the appt. I was seen on time. The Dr was well prepared, had reviewed my records before coming in the exam room. His exam was thorough and listened well, explained everything well, was not rushed, answered all my questions and came up with a treatment plan that worked for both of us. He's extremely knowledgeable in his field and does impeccable work. I have full confidence that his care will be the best I can find. The office location is convenient ample parking and not having to.walk far He has MRI, CT, EMG right there. And they transmitted my prescription to the pharmacy. When you're not feeling well, you dont want to have to go all over the city to get to appts and you dont want to have to wait long to get answers and a treatment plan that will help you to feel better faster. So streamlined! Love love love this practice! And the nurse and support staff are absolutely awesome and professional.

He was very rude and very Unprofessional. He questioned our family doctors ability to read an MRI saying he has no idea what he's talking about, basically called my husband a liar, and snipped at me to take my daughter out of the room when she started fussing, when it was obvious I was trying to take her from my husband so I could take her out, especially because I said I was taking her out! I only went back with my husband in the first place to help him because he has trouble concentrating and coming up with the correct words. He should not be practicing!!!!!!

Dr. Kasdan was very personal, very kind, and spent time to explain the condition that I am in. He also suggested several possible causes for my condition. The MRI facility was right next door, so I had the MRI done there. Afterwards, Dr. Kasdan reviewed the MRI result with me in his office, this saved time and extract trip to the office. Office staff and his nurse are very nice and pleasant. The office visit exceeded my expectation and I highly recommend him.

I searched the internet seeking a 2nd opinion from Dr. Richard Kasdan, Neurologist service. He is a unprofessional disrespectful licensee that demonstrated unethical, immoral, & condescending practices far below an acceptable standard of State Board of PA practice. He is an unprofessional lying neurologist that made many false statements about me in his progress notes. He questioned the professional care provided by my doctors as I positively responded. Immediately, he made many very unprofessional comments about them & attempted to insult their medical qualifications. I asked him do you know them? Do you know what type of medical care they have provided for me? How dare you try & attempt to belittle them? He is very condescending and lacks respect for other professionals within the same study. In addition, he also tried to humiliate me by stating & writing negative false comments. He twisted my words about the symptoms and wrote false accusations that I NEVER said… &/or discussed with him. OMG, I was very upset when I retrieved a copy of his lying progress notes. This man has a very serious mental problem & his Neurologist license needs revoked. Likewise, I have NEVER met a rude, arrogant, & unprofessional doctor that lies consistently. Furthermore, this doctor does not know me to say I don’t love myself. For the record, I love myself & I am love by God. Reference my Facebook page; it’s all above empowering, encouraging & motivating people. At the same time, I am rearching if I can file a lawsuit for falsifying information & defamation of character.

It was humiliating . I was sent to him by workers comp . Bought and paid for by comp ! He never even looked at any of the 40 some documents by 5 different specialists that I was instructed to bring with me . Told me there was nothing wrong with me . He was rude and should have his license taken away . A terrible and humiliating experience !

Not only is he a quack, he does not care. He should have his medical license revoked. Or, he should just retire, before he gets more complaints, or law suits.

He told me upon first sight that I looked good to him and that I am fine. When I mentioned the numbness and tingling in my hand, he immediately said he would get me a brace to keep me from bumping my ulnar nerve (by my elbow) to get rid of the tingling - WITHOUT listening to any of my other symptoms! When he tested my face for numbness, he jabbed the pin so hard that he drew blood and left a mark for weeks. Worst part? He had a full conversation with another patient about their results in the hallway with me two feet away (where they had said for me to wait). It was an uncomfortable conversation where he obviously thought the patient was making up symptoms to get out of work. Perhaps he has not heard of HIPAA/privacy laws?? He said his 5 partners left him last May - HINT? He wasted my valuable time, my insurance's money, was condescending and unprofessional.

I, too, was referred to this "doctor" by my PCP and since I know she has my best interests at heart, I was extremely surprised. He walked in to the exam room, didn't introduce himself and just assumed that my sister was the patient. He was rude, dismissive and arrogant. He questioned my reason for being there, as if I had nothing better to do with my time or money. He talked over me continually without listening at all and seemed to direct his comments toward my sister, rather than me as if I were an idiot. He also questioned a procedure that my PCP had ordered and made very unprofessional remarks about another doctor that I had seen. My first instinct was to get up and leave and I am so very sorry that I didn't. I would not recommend him for a splinter.
