Lauderdale area. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in chemistry. He proceeded to attend Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in …Houston, Texas, achieving the high honor of graduating in the top ten of his class. He remained at BCM for his internship and residency in dermatology at the world-class Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Krathen then completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology at the Dayton Skin Surgery Center in Kettering, Ohio. This fellowship involved intensive training in Mohs and reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetics. Dr. Krathen maintains his board certification in Dermatology and passed the first offering of the Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery board in 2021.Dr. Krathen is recognized as a Castle-Connolly Top Doctor.
Dr. Krathen continues to grow and share his knowledge as a reputed professional in dermatology. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Award and honors in basic sciences from Baylor College of Medicine. He has been selected as a Castle-Connolly Top Doctor by his peers for over five years. He has published over 25 articles in professional journals about dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Krathen has also presented scientific studies and papers at various national professional meetings. When not in the office, Dr. Krathen enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, hiking, exercising, cooking, and playing music.

This dermatology practice is, by far, the best I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot with my recent skin cancer issues. They take the time to explain my problems in a way that I can understand and make me feel comfortable and at ease. It’s NOT an assembly line like other practices I’ve been to where they are just pushing you through so they can get to the next patient. Brandie has been my provider and I can tell she loves her job and truly cares about my health. She does everything she can to make sure I walk out with all of my questions and concerns addressed. The people at the front desk, the medical assistants, and staff are friendly and work together as a team which creates a great atmosphere. Thank you Brandie for catching other precancerous issues I did not know about in time before they became a problem. I recommend this practice to anyone for screenings and treatment.
