Dr. Richard Lebovicz, MD

On this day last year (February 6, 2024), I had a seven-hour long major surgery performed by Dr. Lebovicz, which was an unforgettable experience. My ankle had a severe comminuted fracture. Dr. Lebovicz did a superb job. His strong work ethic, exquisite surgical skills, very professional conduct, and extreme attentiveness made a deep impression on me. Over the past year, my ankle has been improving steadily, and now I have a great outcome. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Lebovicz for all the excellent services he provided during my ankle surgery and post-surgical treatments. I would highly recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Lebovicz was the on call surgeon at JFK when I needed emergency surgery, unfortunately learned after the fact that Dr. Lebovicz is out of network. After many emails and phone calls between my insurance company and the office, there was an agreement made that the office would accept the customary and reasonable amount and I would only pay my visit copay. Insurance company sent me regular explanations of benefits showing they were paying the customary and reasonable amount. 4 months later the office sends me a balance bill for the amount beyond the reasonable and customary rate. Despite both their office and the insurance company telling you one thing, they add a line to a contract they get you to sign 3 days post surgery when neither you nor your spouse have slept in days and you are traumatized and can barely read due to a concussion. They then tell you don't trust what we told you, you have to read the contract that says differently. The way the woman spoke to me seemed quite… clear that it happens regularly that they mislead people about billing. I even asked the doctor the first time I got X-rays there if I could go to an in network place for my X-rays instead. He told me not to worry about the bill...I am not going to trust a medical practice that lies to and deceives patients so have had to cancel my follow up appointments.

This was the worst experiences I have ever encountered with a physician's office. Ms Kelly refused to allow me be treated by Dr Lebovicz because I didn't bring a copy of my emergency room records. I explained to her my referring physician would be faxing over my records and wanted to speak personally with him. She refused to accept the records even after my doctor called her. She said I should have rbrought copies. No copies; no tree even if my doctor called and was Waiting to speak with him prior to exam and after. She proceeded to lie about our encountered to her co workers. Stating that I was loud and. verbally abusive. Eventually I did become loud and made sure that they understood she was a liar and I was not going to be quite while she lied in order to give a favorable impression of herself. This office is u organized and disrespectful and totally disregards the needs of patients. Please NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER make any appointments for this physician. It… will be a complete waste of time and energy.

I have had many bad experiences with Dr Lebovicz. He was supposed to be the only pediatric orthopedic doctor on call at JFK Hospital. My son broke his forearm in an accident on Saturday night. He has history of bone density and many fractures. Dr. Lebovicz did not show up to the ER and directed the nurse to put temporary cast without aligning the fractured bone and did x ray in a wrong angle and discharged him. The next day we called his office, but they refused to accept my insurance because Dr. Lebovicz did not treat my son in hospital. When we complained he said based on the x ray it was not an urgent case. After five days with many difficulties we found another Dr and we found out it a mistreatment and also a delay treatment at JFk Hospital with Dr. Lebovicz. This is negligence if he checked the x rays on line how he did not understand the x ray was in wrong angel based on the second Dr diagnosis.

I complain with this doctor is that for medical appointments they put a schedule and do not comply and after you go to the room you have to wait about 40 minutes before the doctor sees you is a total waste of time.

Staff is NOT people. They are inhuman. I'm wondering if Dr. Lepovicz is aware of his staff members and the way they're treating patients. Such a waste in the medical field.

The office staff was rude and dismissive, so sad such a GREAT Dr, I would never use him again due to his office staff and 2 hour wait. Again great dr. worst office staff ever.

Please don't come to this doctor if you have out of network insurance. they will charges you with a bunch of the interest and service charges. you call for help for payment plan but they refused to do it and instead they ask you to pay in full. Please look for different doctor. The staff and front desk and billing staff was rude and unprofessional. I think the doctor do that in purpose so he can collect extra money from the patient.

The staff takes a ridiculous amount of time to check people out and handle paperwork. The back office is not professional. The doctor and technician do their jobs well it is the office staff that is unprofessional.

Waiting time was the longest ever. Waiting room 1 hour then one more hour in the room to see the doctor What the point to schedule the appointment
