Dr. Camden is the newest addition to our office and we are excited to add her to our team! Dr. Brown grew up in Hilton Head Island, SC and Tampa, FL. She attended college at the University of Florida, where she studied Neuroscience, was awarded highest honors and was inducted into the honor society Phi Beta Kappa. After college, Dr. Brown attended dental school at Harvard University. While at Harvard, she pursued research in cutting edge implant dentistry and was published for her work. She then went on to complete her orthodontic residency back at the University of Florida and was awarded both a certificate in orthodontics and a Master in dental sciences. There, Dr. Brown continued her passion for …advancing the field of dentistry with her research investigation TMJ pain and muscle healing.
Community service has always been an important part of Dr. Brown’s life. During her childhood she participated annually in the Tampa Bay Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals. In college she continued her service by volunteering at a subsidized health care clinic and as she began her interest in dentistry, Dr. Brown helped lead several educational groups. Her favorite service project was leading Project Hands, which involved visits to local elementary schools to teach dental health education through creative art projects. She hopes to continue to find ways to stay active in Central Virginia and enhance the community.
In March of 2011 Dr. Brown got married to Andrew Brown. Andrew will be attending the University of Virginia for his masters in architecture. In their spare time they enjoy cooking, traveling, gardening, visiting antique stores and trying new food. They have really enjoyed getting to know Charlottesville and feel that the town is a perfect match!
We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Camden Brown into the Hamer & Hamer team. Working together as a team, we know that her education and expertise will help us stay up to date with the latest in orthodontic technology. In addition, her personality shines and we know that you will really enjoy having her as a doctor. She looks forward to meeting you at your next visit!
