Dr. Richard Jeffrey Lipton, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Lipton's for over 20 years. He was the doctor that diagnosed me with cholesteatoma and has been treating me ever since. He is very patient, kind and listens.

Dr. Lipton has an arrogant manner and does not listen to his patients. By ignoring my symptoms and concerns he missed diagnosis of an acoustic neuroma (brain tumor). The dr. simply said the hearing in my left ear was within normal ranges although I noticed it had become noticable worse and I had lost hearing totally in the ear for 2 brief periods in the prior several months. It was another 2 years until this was diagnosed (hearing in this ear was lost). I've heard similar issues with his arrogance from other former patients.

I was referred to Dr. Lipton by my primary physician to treat an oral cancer. He did a fantastic job in the diagnosis, and treatment. That was over 10 years ago, and I remain cancer free since then. I highly recommend him.

I was introduced to Dr. lipton because three other doctors could'nt figure out what was wrong with my ears.He knew the problem and has excelled my hearing.

We had 3 appointments with Dr. Lipton and really liked him until I called at 7:30 AM on a Sunday morning because my infant son had been up all night screaming with a fever like he does with every ear infection. Dr. Lipton returned my call to tell me that it could have waited because he wanted to sleep in on a Sunday morning and that he would call something in but not to expect it until 10 AM because he was going back to bed. Not what a concerned mom wants to be told.
