Dr. Richard Funk Lockey, MD

Having just come from my umpteenth visit with Dr. Lockey, (I have been a patient for over 30 years), I never cease to be amazed at the knowledge and caring of this great physician. Being the widow of an excellent doctor, I have to say that I don't believe that M.D.s walk on water. But, if they did, Dr. Lockey would never have wet feet! Not only is he the best in the Tampa Bay Area, he is one of the best in the nation, and is known for his brilliance world-wide. Dr. Lockey is a genuine person, who views his patients as people. He looks at the entire person rather than just the illness, and in training future M.D.s. he emphasizes the importance of listening to the patient rather than immediately subjecting patients to a myriad of tests, to diagnose what exactly is going on. Dr. Lockey is an 'old-fashioned doctor' with space-age knowledge and expertise.

THE DOCTORS AND STAFF ARE GREAT. BUT I HAVE EXPERIENCED I THINK HER NAME IS MRS. DONNA OR MRS. DEANNA BEING VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TOWARDS HER STAFF SEEMS LIKE SHE IS THE MANAGER I WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES. THE DOCTORS HAVE TO HONESTLY RECONSIDER THAT LADY BEING IN CHARGE OF THERE PRACTICE. I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO TALK TO ONE OF THE DOCTORS PERSONALLY. BUT WHEN I CALL THEY SAY I HAVE TO GO THRU THE MANAGER. HOPEFULLY THE DOCTOR WILL SEE THIS EXPERIENCE.

I? have been seeing Dr. Lockey for over 20 years. He is the best most up to date doctor for treating allergies and asthma. I? have gone from using my rescue inhaler up to 10 times a day, to not knowing where it is at my home. He added over 10 years of life to my asthmatic dad’s life. Thank goodness for his amazing talents. I? would highly recommend him, and his practice to anyone.

Patients beware Dr. Lockey insults new patients when they refuse to be seen Immunology intern Dr. Pepper whom is still completing her speciality. When I insisted on meeting with Dr. Lockey he said he had other patients that were much worse off than I that required his attention. Having already waited over an hour to be seen, I asked the simple question as to how long it would need to wait to see Dr. Lockey he was unable to provide an answer. I scheduled my appointment with this doctor because of his years of experience to try to seek relief from the suffering I've endured over the last couple of years due to allergies.

Dr. Lockey put an end to chronic sickness and constant antibiotics for my 2 year old son. It has been 3 years since my son was diagnosed with asthma and he is a new boy under his treatment plan. My sons love to go to Dr. L's office. He is like a grandpa to them and always gives my older son attention even though he isn't his patient. You know you have a great doctor when your kids get excited that they are visiting that office and not another. I would not entrust my child's care to another doctor in town.

With Dr Lockey, you're seeing The Best. He does think & talk fast, so be prepared with your symptoms & questions. However, he does take more time with you than most drs - all you need to feel comfortable that you understand. They don't come any better than Dr Lockey! This I tell you after over 20 years a patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lockey for 10 years- he was recommended by the chief of Allergy and asthma at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. I had seen another allergist in Clermont, FL, and ran into serious problems with asthma. Dr. Lockey retested my allergies and got me on a program where my asthma was well controlled. He is a wonderful doctor and well worth driving the 80 miles to Tampa to see him. He is concerned about all aspects of my health, not just allergies and asthma. I am having problems with high blood pressure and when I saw him last week, he did some tests in his office and contacted a blood pressure doctor while I was in his office! I have an appointment with that doctor coming up.
