Richard Malley, MD

Richard Malley, MD, is a senior physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital and a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He is an internationally recognized expert in pediatric infectious diseases and vaccine development, with clinical and research expertise focused on bacterial infections, pneumococcal disease, meningitis, travel medicine, and immunization strategies for children. Dr. Malley earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases and pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. His pioneering research has advanced the development of next-generation pneumococcal vaccines and innovative approaches to infectious disease prevention, particularly for children in low-resource settings around the world.
