I have been to see Dr Marvel 3 times. I was referred to him by my physical therapist as I have severe pelvic pain after the birth of my baby. The first visit I was a bit put off by his demeanor but I am suffering from severe chronic pelvic pain so I figured that I would stick with him since he is a specialist. The first visit he performed an exam and referred me to get an MRI and a pudendal nerve block. Cool. So I go and get them and after I get them he wants me to come back in to review everything. I come in for a second appointment and I have a few things that could be the cause of my pain according to my MRI. According to him because I'm still feeling pain the block didn't work and wants me to go to his guy who he referred me to (Dr Richard). He's $470 more expensive than my pain management doc but whatever I'm in a crapton of pain - I'll go. So I get this done (this block didn't work either even though he swears this doc is the best). I go back in and he tells me that even though… he sees that there could be a bunch of things that could be the cause of my pain he won't be able to tell me what is causing it because there's not a single cause and I need to go see a mental health therapist and focus on "mindfulness". What?? This guy is supposed to be a expert in his field and can't tell me what's causing my pain? Why am I paying him? His bedside manner is crap. He seems like he talks around issues a lot and has no course of action to actually fix the problem. It's sad. I won't be back.

I literally have nerve damage from a previous surgeon malpractice case and that was still a better experience than the hour I spent with this arrogant, apathetic man who ignored me crying the entire time including the exam.

This man is horrible. That is what he is and I think Doctors tend to forget they are human beings and not Gods! He was rude and had the audacity to tell me he is a "tell it like it is" kind of guy all the while coming across like an A**hole! He called me back to his office and then disappeared before I knew where I was heading. Gave me a 5 minute exam and then proceeded to reprimand me about certain lyfstyle habits I have that I'm already working on changing. He never once mentioned the exam or why I might be feeling the way I'm feeling. In all honesty, he made me feel very uncomfortable! DO NOT SEE MISTER Ricahard P. Marvel if you have any genuine health concerns!!!!!!!!

I've seen others write "Dr. Marvel has given me my life back"- which is funny because as I was thinking of my review, those were the exact words that came to mind. I spent 2 years struggling with symptoms that felt so severe, they had a serious impact on my mental health. My regular gyn could not help me- and I tried time and time again with multiple doctors. It wasn't until 2 years later that I went back to my regular gyn in an act of desperation. Luckily, this practitioner knew about Dr. Marvel and referred me to him. After my first visit and a few weeks on the treatment plan he prescribed, I saw signs of improvement for the first time in 2 years. My depression associated with the health issue started to retreat as Dr. Marvel restored my hope in my health and my life. I don't know where I would be without his help, but I know it wouldn't be a good place. If you are having any kind of chronic gyn issue- see Dr. Marvel and spread the word.

The people who gave himself 5 stars are either his staff who are being forced to write them or the creep is writing them himself!!!! Took a family member to see him after her GYN recommend him because of the problems she was having. Once again just like all the other real reviews before mine he was VERY condescending and rude and about as arrogant as they come!!!He spent a total of 2 minutes on her exam and even less time discussing her issue. If anything the things he told her to do only made her issue worse!!!! He never bothered or even acted like he cared about finding the source of the problem. It's also true that he does not liked to be asked questions and he will let you know it with an arrogant attitude!!! I do not like this man and I really feel there is something NOT right about him and that was before I read all the other horrible experiences people had with him. Now I'm thinking why is this man still allowed to practice medicine and why is he still being recommended by other… Dr ??? All I can say is if you or anyone you know has been referred to this creep you have warned. SOMTHING IS NOT RIGHT ABOUT THAT MAN!!!!!!!

Wonderful doc with vast experience in gyn. He did an excellent job diagnosing me and treating the problem. I finally have my life back!

Dr. Marvel changed my life. He took me seriously and took my case head on when no one else would. I'm a 24 year old female with a complicated medical history. He has gone above and beyond for me and I can't thank him enough. He always does his best to make me laugh, and I've always left his office hopeful. He listens to me, my family, and our concerns and gives the realistic, straight to the point, truth. There's no sugar coating, and I love that in a Doctor. He has already reduced my pain from surgery, and I have nothing but faith in him when he tells me he "won't give up". He also keeps me grounded and realistic which is very important to me. He has turned my life around in so many ways. Having a doctor who cares is necessary for someone with chronic conditions. After years of searching for real answers, and being misdiagnosed, Dr. Marvel changed all of that. I feel like we're finally on the right path. He hasn't thrown me on tons of medications like other doctors in the past, he's… actually proactive, and aggressive about my pain treatment which is what I need. I have hope now, and a plan. Thank you Dr. Marvel. His staff is WONDERFUL. Some of the sweetest women I've ever met. I've never had any problems getting an appointment or having questions answered. They always make me comfortable and I enjoy seeing and talking with them. I can't thank you all enough. 5 stars across the board.

It amazed me that the doctor spent so much time explaining how I could be helped with my pain and even offered me references with other patients he has treated and helped. I have major decisions to make but feel comfortable with Dr. Marvel and his staff.
