Dr. Richard Franklin Mauroner, MD

Dr. Mauroner has treated me for many years. His only real solutions are to take more medications. I asked him about a supplement that helps with anxiety and he had never heard of it. I do not recommend seeing him for any anxiety-related disorders. I wish he had more enthusiasm and made me feel like a valued person.

I’ve been a patient for several years now and have often thought Dr Mauroner would be better off working in a lab rather than with human patients. The man corners the market on cool and distant, though not in a mean way. It’s an odd career choice for someone with his type of personality. He’s just not engaged. Not ideal for his line of work. If that doesn’t bother you you’ll probably be okay with him. I’d prefer to change psychiatrists but, as my primary care doctor told me, they’re hard to get appts with in this area and not to leave without having a new doctor lined up. And not completely unrelated- I’m not sure how many patients this doctor has but, even after several years, the women who handles making appts, taking payments, etc. for him (whose name I can’t recall) is still cold and distant and doesn’t recognize me at all. Not a good feeling to get in you psychiatrist’s office. Just smile and try to be a little pleasant, for god’s sake.

Office staff is absolutely horrible. They seem to hate the moment you walk in the door and always have an attitude. Good luck getting a phone call through. I believe I've had one call answered in 10 years. Good luck getting a call returned, as well.

He has been there for me for years no matter how things got bad.

Works as part of Parkridge Valley Psychiatric care team and will gladly be your doctor as long as you're there, but even though he knows it takes 4 to 5 months to get in with another psychiatrist in town, he tries to divorce you as a patient the moment you walk out of Valley doors. Will prescribe you psychiatric medication that has all kinds of side effects if you go without them, but when you contact his office because you still haven't got in with a psychiatrist, and you need refills, they sent back direct quote on the fax to my pharmacy "has different outpatient Dr" which if I did I wouldn't be contacting him in the first place. I'm hoping one of the office people answered that fax with a standard answer, instead of it being his personal answer but until then I have to review follows up as a after visit with a zero. One was as low as I could go though. I personally liked Dr. Mauroner. He's a nice guy and he's very easy to talk to, but I feel like he really failed me as a… psychiatrist and just did enough to get me through my stay at the hospital. Yes I am angry, but I have not said anything that was not 100% factually correct. I hope he's a better doctor in his private practice.

Dr. Mauroner is the best!

The staff hurts this doctor. They never answer calls. You give this doctor a thought about yourself and he just disagrees. Asked to change my medicaions and he just added another. I have seen many psychiatrists and this is one i am moving on from.

Dr. Mauroner is a highly professional physician. Acute diagnostic skills and very professional and compassionate. I am blessed to have him as my doctor.
