Dr. Richard Allan Mersberger, DO

A great doctor and a great person.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Mersberger on two separate occasions and have been very pleased with the care I have received. He is very thorough and doesn't seem to be in a rush. He spent a considerable amount of time answering my questions and is extremely easy to talk to. He was definitely paying attention to me unlike many other doctors who are too busy typing on their computers. He was writing important info down on a piece of paper which was definitely a nice change of pace. I'm a complicated patient unfortunately but Dr. Mersberger was very knowledgeable regarding my genetic conditions (not common problems) and how they interfere with my other chronic issues. I was very pleased with the visits and my entire family now sees him and are just as impressed. The staff is very nice and there was little to no wait. Appointment was at 10 am and I was pulled back at 9:50 and the doctor was in the room by 9:55. Very efficient! Happy to see some good primary care physicians coming to… Beaufort as we have been without decent family doctors for a while!

I was very pleased with the new doctor to the practice. I was a little upset since our prior doctor had to move out of state for family reasons but the new doctor quickly put my mind at ease. I have a lot of medical issues at my age and wanted to make certain that he was comfortable taking care of me and some of my complex problems. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable. He is very thorough and takes the time to listen to all of my concerns. It was also refreshing to have a doctor not have their face buried in a computer screen the entire visit. I know that the EHR's have put a strain on doctors and have taken much of the person to person interaction out of healthcare. He actually writes important notes down on a piece of paper which reminds me of days gone by when primary care doctors took the time to talk to their patients. He is extremely pleasant and very easy to talk to. I think we spent 30 minutes talking about Beaufort, fishing, kids and we have a lot in common. He appears… to be a normal down to earth guy and not one of those narcissistic doctors who tell you do X/Y/Z and push you out of the room. It was definitely refreshing to see that the medical schools can still produce doctors that are passionate about primary care!

I have been using Dr. Mersberger for almost 15 years and he is absolutely wonderful. His bedside manner is second to none and his interest in your healthcare is genuine. I cannot say enough about this man and what he has done for me and my family. The true epitome of what a primary care doctor should be. If you are truly searching for a great doctor, do yourself a favor and visit Dr. Mersberger. You won’t be disappointed!

Dr. Mersberger is absolutely wonderful. My entire family sees him and we have been extremely pleased. A possesses a bedside manner that is rare to find these days!

Dr. Mersberger is such a wonderful healthcare provider! I actually prefer him for my son over my son's regular pediatric group. He is very friendly and professional and actually TREATS your illnesses. We now drive over 20miles just to be able to continue seeing him when necessary.

BEST DOC, HE CLOSES DOWN EARLY FROM TIME TO TIME BUT ITS HIS PRACTICE & HE WORKS 100+ HOURS A WEEK!
