Dr. Richard Joseph Moldawsky, MD

I grew up in New York City, a wonderful place to grow up. After high school, I spent 12 years in Philadelphia, where I went to college at the University of Pennsylvania and then to Temple University for medical school and specialty training in psychiatry. Having completed my degree, I felt it was time for a big change, and I moved to southern California in 1979. For four years, I was on staff at UC Irvine, in charge of an inpatient ward, teaching medical students and residents, and seeing my own patients. I worked closely with primary care physicians and helped develop their training program. I was an assistant clinical professor in both psychiatry and internal medicine. But the research orientation of academic medicine was not for me, and in 1983, I joined the Kaiser Permanente as a psychiatrist in the Bellflower area. In 2001, I transferred to Orange County.
