Dr. Richard Martin Oakley, DDS

Meet Dr. Oakley Richard M. Oakley, DDS FACOMS Dr. Oakley is a native of Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where he served as President of his class and received the distinction of Outstanding Senior Student in Oral Surgery. He received his dental degree in 1989. Dr. Oakley entered his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City following his graduation from dental school and completed his surgical training in 1993. Dr. Oakley is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He currently is on the active medical staff at Shawnee Mission Medical Center where he has chaired various medical staff committees. He also has staff appointment at Saint Lukes South in Overland Park. Dr. Oakley is the director of the Great Plains Study Club, the exclusive local Kansas City …chapter of the Seattle Study Club. The Seattle Study Club stresses obtaining absolute excellence in the doctor’s professional practice and the importance of providing the very best, most comprehensive treatment available. As director of the Great Plains Study Club, Dr. Oakley instructs some of Kansas City’s finest dentists on oral implants. Dr. Oakley has a special interest in the area of oral implants, bone grafting techniqes to augment the jaws to better accept dental implants, orthognathic surgery (reconstruction of the facial skeleton) and reconstruction of traumatic facial injuries. He is married and has one daughter and one son. Dr. Oakley enjoys skiing, music and computers.
