Dr. Richard Alan Owings, MD

I was an inpt of his back in 1997 when I hospitalized myself for acute depression, etc. This is 1 of the most, cynical, sarcastic, uncaring, nasty, rude ??professionals?? I have encountered. Tx was disgraceful by him & the entire staff at L.R. Baptist Psych unit. Everyone was mean, vindictive, uneducated, rude (don't have enough space to list more) who have no respect or understanding of sick people & incited them into anger just to punish them for fun (4 point leather restraints, isolation w/no bedding, sheets, blankets). Yet refused to believe me. 18 yrs later I still cringe @ how I was treated. AVOID !!!!! Patients are nothing to him.

Dr. Owings may be very intelligent but lacks all compassion in the world. Somewhere along the road Dr. Owings lost site of the phrase "do no harm". He never contacted my PCP to check on medication counteractions and OD'd on a medication by quadrupling the dosage. He's in it for the money not to help patients. I was never taken seriously, he looked at me I like I was totally ignorant, and uses his patients as lab rats. Stay away from this man...unless you want to lose your life!!
