Dr. Richard Anthony Papa, DO

Little details count a ton. I brought my daughter for check as she is been not feeling good for a couple days. I had to get out of work at lunch time and bring my food with me. I asked the lady in the reception for a microwave so i can get my food warm, she says "let me check" and goes to talk to another lady behind her. Not sure what they discussed. She comes back to me and says: "our microwave is not working today"... really?? I rather take a " we preferred to not let use our microwave to outsiders for health reasons". No, the lady chose to lie to me. Sad.... little details...

From the beginning doctor papa had been prompt, thorough and has a good bedside manner. He was encouraging for those of us who practice breastfeeding and does not shame women who do not. He recommended to have someone feed a bottle to newborns once a day (breast milk or formula) just so that the baby is able and willing to drink from the bottle to give Mom a break. (Thank you!) he offers group classes for babies to discuss milestones, which is a great way to become aware of developmental delays. He and his fellow doctors take their time to speak with you and discuss any concerns. They will get you in whenever you may need. He will not allow newborns to be exposed to waiting area germs and will place them into a room instead and he is strategic in scheduling to avoid having babies being around sick children. He is old school in many ways, but I love that about him. He knows what he is talking about. He and his staff are competent, friendly, professional and thorough.

Dr. Papa does not follow the AAP recommendations and gives old/outdated advice, which is dangerous to children. Also scheduling is very rigid and not flexible

This doctor will want you to start your baby on solids at 3 weeks old. It seems like he is very old fashioned and doesn't follow the American academy of pediatrics. He also wanted my baby who doesn't even have teeth yet to do a fluoride rinse and I've read nothing but bad things about floride rinses.

I am a mom of two boys. My oldest son had bowel issues when he was younger and Dr. Papa figured out his issue within ten minutes of us being there. He also takes his time with you. Answering all your questions and concerns. He takes special time with newborns also which is nice if your a first time mom or dad. He is an all around amazing doctor and my kids love him. They are not afraid of him or scared to go to the doctors because of the time he takes with them. We love you doctor Papa :)
