This Office Cancelled my appointment less than a Day out. They made me schedule the appointment 6 months beforehand. Yes, 6 entire months. Then they tell me the very day before that they finally decided to check, and whoopsie!, my Major Insurance Provider (Blue Shield CA trio HMO) Isn't contracted with them. I recommend looking anywhere else in the Area, Totally ridiculous.

Dr Payne always seems to be in a hurry to make it to the next patient to get his AR going. Never follows up or calls back to discuss test results or for best course of action after test results are in. Not a friendly doctor. He often seems worn out. Avoid!

Very well run medical office with highly competent and courteous staff and doctors. Dr. Payne is not at all shy to explain at a level that a non medical doctor can understand. He's also fearless in addressing behavioral issues that keep you from better health. He's more like a "health coach". I really appreciate this because our financial services firm has all the same attributes. (oreillywa.com) The office incorporates technology in a thoughtful way. The office organizational is impeccable.

We have been going to North Coast for almost 30 years. They are are always wonderful to their patients and make going to the Dr easy and less stressful.

Be aware if you are a cardiac patient that Dr. Payne should not be your primary care physician. He is not aware of the signs of infection that are a red flag when you have a heart valve replaced. My husband who had a heart valve replacement, was incorrectly diagnosed with a virus by Dr. Payne. After repeated calls and visits to Dr. Payne where he complained that he was not getting better, Dr. Payne maintained his stubborn opinion that my husband just had a virus. He never ordered any lab tests done which were crucial to his pre-existing condition. In reality my husband had a gut infection, not a virus, which ultimately resulted in endocarditis and an untimely death a month later. Do not chose him as your primary care physician if you are a cardiac patient.

Added Nonsense charges as well as charged for care that never occurred. Pretty much a scam. Stay away if you want a real doctor.

Dr. Richard Payne is an exceptional physician! Never in my 58 years have I encountered such a compassionate and caring doctor. He truly listens to your physical complaints and considers your mental well being. Additionally he is also gifted with a wonderful personality and sense of humor! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have gone to this Dr. twice in the past year or so. The first time he could not give me a solution to my problem and only gave me about 5 minutes before he was trying to rush me out the door. The second time I went to him was recently, regarding a different problem. His attitude seemed very rude. He kept saying he couldn't understand what I wanted him to do, which was obviously find a solution to the issue. I found him lacking basic social skills, a sense of humor, and courtesy. In regards to both visits, he hasn't helped me in one bit! I had no problems with his staff. I would advice anyone to AVOID this doctor.

Dr. Payne listens. He is astute, organized, intelligent, careful - and he listens. He also has twice called me at my home in the evenings, to find out how I was faring with a chronic condition he'd sent me to a specialist for. So he cares. He follows up. I recommend him highly.
