Dr. Richard R. Pence, DDS, MAGD, PA
Dr. Pence received his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University, and his doctorate from the UNC School of Dentistry. He received his Mastership in General Dentistry in 1992, and has just been named the first dentist in the Carolinas to receive the prestigious Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. The Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition is presented only to qualifying Masters of the AGD. Mastership is one of the most respected designations in dentistry. Masters who receive this additional recognition have met the highest criteria for professional excellence. To receive the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition, Dr. Pence completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 550 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques and more than 200 hours of service to the community.
He has maintained a full time practice in Lincolnton …since 1971, and has a new office in Denver, NC. He currently serves as Consulting Faculty and has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. He is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Pence has been selected by a vote of his peers to be included in the 2005 edition of The Best Dentists in America (sm). He is currently serving as President of the UNC Dental School Alumni Association. He has served as a member of the Lincoln County Board of Education, as Elder in the Presbyterian Church, and as Lincolnton Rotary Club’s delegate to the International Meeting. He is married with two sons.
