I had one and only one visit. Have a hernia, two actually. Dr. Perugini was the Dr. that had the earliest appt, so I went with that. Let’s see, first of all, he was 5 min shy of 1 hour late for a 9 am appt. He waltzed in, felt my stomach, agreed that I have a hernia, told me to call his office and schedule surgery. I told him my PC Dr. said I would need a cat scan or MRI, he said, oh yeah, I Guess..... I guess?!! We can do an MRI? Really??? He then proceeded to tell me that I MUST quit smoking cigarettes 2weeks before the surgery or he would NOT even do the surgery. Said he would check my blood for nicotine to make SURE I didn’t smoke! I had already looked him up for reviews and saw he had been sued and lost the case. I saw bad reviews but want to give him the benefit of the doubt. After meeting him I understand why the bad reviews and Malpractice suit. I thought Dr. Perugini was quite arrogant, uncaring and I’m still in awe that anyone would let this guy operate on them! On… a better note, I got a different Dr. , Dr. Kelly, aaaahhhh, what a relief, he’s on time for his appointments, explains things in a non-arrogant manner, and told me my diastasis isn’t as bad as Perugini had me thinking and only my hernias need to be fixed, not the slight diastasis that Perugini was going to cut me open to fix for no reason. The hernias can be patched laparoscopically . Take away here: if you need a hernia Dr., go to Dr. Kelly at Umass Lake Ave., don’t waste a moment of your precious time on Dr. Perugini because chances are you will regret it!!

I went to this dr because I had 2 botched surgeries he came in would not listen to what I had to say he made his own opion and wouldn't let me speak until I started to yell at him he has sent me back to work with severe nerve damage and pain in lifting things whitch I do for a living the guy is a complete idiot and u would not recommend him to my worst enemy

Please listen, this is the worst doctor I ever went to, I had no pain in my stomach until he touched me. I have a hernia and this clown is yanking on my stomach I was screaming in pain and he is telling me I need to relax. Save yourself a lot of trouble don't go to this joker. Google him and you will see others have had a problem with him too. I gave him a chance but I wish now I would of listened to the other people"s reviews of him. They were right on about him he is a lousy doctor.
