Dr. Richard Eugene Phares

Just want to say how very fortunate I was 50 (yes 50) years ago that he was on duty at the Baptist Hospital on Napoleon Ave. In New Orleans when I was brought in from a car accident after my best friend missed clearing a huge round metal cover in the middle of a street being repaired and thank goodness for my hard head that separated the windshield by about the same amount as the vehicle missed clearing the obstruction. Dr. Phares patiently picked out a lot of pieces of glass and stiched up the cut from the top center of my head down across my right eyebrow. he was so very WONDERFUl!!

In 1982, I went to Dr. Phares because I had a very dark mole on my left shoulder. It was 4th of July weekend and he removed the mole and called me early the next week and told me it was a level 2 melanoma. He had removed one successfully several years before from my mother. He removed mine in St. Anthony's Hospital and kept me there for a week waiting for the tissue to rebuild a bit. He treated the area with mercurochrome and did a skin graft at the end of the week. It healed beautifully and 35 years later I am still cancer free. He did not order radiation or chemotherapy because he said he got it all in the surgery. He is a brilliant and talented doctor and I thank him for saving my life.

He is rude and comes off very sleezy.
