Dr. Richard Alan Reinking, MD

Dr. Reinking has been my whole family's doctor since 1991. He listens to my concerns, is interested in my family situation because it helps him to better understand my overall health concerns. The way he explains things to me is very down to earth and not confusing. If I have questions he always makes sure I understand his answers. He takes time to listen to me, not just to address my symptoms. There have been times when my symptoms and test results have seemed unusual and he sends me to specialists. The last referral was to a physician who commented that "Richard always sends me his puzzles," and did not run more blood tests because all he would have ordered had already been run in Dr. R.'s office. I recommend him without question.

I started going to Dr Reinking in late 80's while in my 20s. I didn't need him much but I always received good diagnosis of medical needs. He got me through adult chicken pox (ARG!) and recently a fantastic referral for successful cancer treatment. I now live 80 miles away but I keep going back for all but urgent care needs. My parent's Dr retired and I referred them to Dr. Reinking. They have been thrilled with the attention and detailed records he keeps. All those notes he takes helps him make good medical recommendations now and in the future. We all plan to be his patients until he retires.

Dr. seems to spend alot of time re-hashing and typing up his notes as he is talking to me. Seems to me I would be better off - if more times was spent on me - and someone else took the notes other than Dr. ReinkingOn the flip side - he is a caring Dr. and seems to be somewhat thorough.

Very difficult to get test results without making numberous phone calls or setting up an appointment for that reason only. Pat answer to most concerns is that he'll send you to somebody. Doesn't seem willing to work as a team with patient.
