Dr. Richard Jay Rosenthal, MD

I sat with my (then) fiance and watched Rosenthal tell him who to vote for and what to do - and who balked when I said that a doctor is not an authority figure. That the patient - especially a paranoid schizophrenic - needs to realize that they are in control, that their behavior is the ONE THING they CAN control, as long as they have appropriate medication. Rosenthal corrected me and told my fiance that he IS an authority figure. I interjected that I wasn't arguing that Rosenthal is an expert when it comes to my fiance's illness, but he isn't and mustn't behave like a father figure or any kind of authority to a private client, especially one paying him TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS A WEEK. But it was more important for Rosenthal, of course, to put $48,000 in his pocket every year than to diligently work to help a very sick man live in the world in a healthy way. Well, the patient died yesterday, at age 58 - FAR TOO YOUNG. Now, Rosenthal will have to find someone to take up that… shortfall. JERK.
