Dr. Schram replaced my knee. I have had a full recovery. Six months following the surgery I am back to being fully active.

Dr Schram has been great and take his time to explain things well. My Knee Replacement was not easy since I had lots of wear and tear. I had 3 surgeries done by him all without complaints about the surgeries or the care I have received. His medical office staff has been fantastic as well. I would highly recommend him for any of one's orthopedic issues.

Dr Schram replaced my right hip 13 years ago. It was a lengthy 4 hour operation that resulted in an extended stay in the hospital and I was always in extreme pain. I used a walker for several weeks afterward and a Cain later that I still am required to use if I walk more than 100 yards. I had 18 weeks of physical therapy that didn’t help. I found Dr Schram’s manner to be Condescending. I noted that the nurses at the hospital were terrified of him. He was rude and crude with them. I have been in pain ever since the operation and have learned to live with it. If I had it to go over again I would avoid Dr Schram at all costs. I have no excuse for not having submitted this review earlier. I should have. It just gets to the point that I realize it isn’t ever going to get any better and I need to make it known that the service I received from Dr Schram was sub standard.

Dr. Richard Schram has operated on multiple members of my family. He has completed surgery on my own sons which were college athletes to my dad’s knee replacement to myself and my brother. All of the surgeries were 100% successful. I consider Dr. Schram as meticulous surgeon that is a true problem solver. The best!

No bedside manner or concern. No discussion. No asking if you had questions which I had plenty when he walked out of the room. Strangest doctor visit ever

Dr. Schram is my go-to surgeon when I've hurt myself playing racquetball. He's repaired both knees and, recently, a shoulder. He's easy to work with, does excellent work, and makes sure you regain the function you lost. At age 66, I'm back to playing three times a week thanks to Dr. Schram.

I specifically requested an in-network referral for a specific surgery. What does his office do? Gives me an out of network referral for the wrong type of surgical specialist. I needed an in network orthopedic surgeon for a specialized cervical spinal decompression and I received an out of network neurosurgeon referral. After a week of dealing with the out of network surgeons medical billing staff trying to haggle and hard sell me into using them out of network, I'm dealing with pain, severe discomfort and stenosis/paralysis in one arm and hand. I was unable to schedule the procedure electively and now everyone in my network is unavailable for the holidays. I am forced to sit in an ER hoping to be admitted.

Dr. Schram performed a partial knee replacement for me and it has been a great success. I’m nearly fully recovered 2 months afterwards. I am extremely pleased with his skill and care, and of the efficiency of his staff. I highly recommend him!

One of my coworkers recommended DR. Schram to me. I am now Pain free and walk without a limp. I was up and walking within a few days and back at work within a week. I would recommend Dr Schram and his staff to everyone.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Schram changed the practice name to Austin Orthopedic Specialists. He performed knee surgery a year ago, most of this year I was disabled and could not use my knee. I went to PT for half of the year and still no relief. He has zero bedside manner, explained nothing and did zero follow up. I finally got a second opinion because I am young and it was scary to be crippled and limping and they gave me a cortizone injectection which brought the swelling down and allowed me to bend my knee and for it to track correctly. I asked Dr. Schram why he let me suffer and did not offer this solution. No reply to this question other than he doesn't like the shots and thinks they are bad. I am sorry not being able to walk after your surgery for a year is bad. No being able to get any answers as to why is bad. Not being able to get relief when there is some is bad. Avoid Dr. Richard Schram.
