Dr. Richard Alan Shugoll, MD

Dr. Shugol has saved me so many times. He is empathetic kind and very exsperienced. If one thinks they are havjng a heart attach go to pineville hospital you will recieve class A treatment from him and the staff.??

Put a to large of a stent in my RCA, had to go back and my regular cardiologist spent three hours in the cath lab inserting three more stents to correct.

the staff is worst than he is

I would not recommend Dr Shugoll as a surgeon. He had difficulty "putting me under" prior to my procedure and I awoke, mid way to pain and panic. A 45 to 60 minute pacemaker implementation required over 4 hours. This was due to Dr Shugoll's need to remove and reinsert the appliance as well as to call an anestesiaoligist to assist. Dr Shugoll did not follow up with me after the surgery nor did he write any Rx's for pain or antibiotics (although one of his collegues did provide me with a mild antibiotic before releasing me). As a result I returned to the hospital after 2 days for IV antibiotics to combat an infection. Upon being released, I was prescribed another week of strong antibiotics. Although I am fine and the pacemaker is working well, I have a brutal scar. I would not recommend Dr Shugoll to anyone considering surgery.
