Dr. Richard Warren Spirer, MD

I have been treated by Dr Spirer 2 times for a shoulder injury and have had good results. He took the time to listen about the symptoms of the injury and saw it through to getting better. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I hurt myself on the job and was sent to him because he was one of worker's comp doctors. The initial diagnosis was a sprained wrist. I was sent home in a wrist brace, told to apply ice and to take prescription Advil for swelling. I returned for a follow up five days later. My wrist still had some swelling, but more importantly, I still had burning pain down my arm and tingling fingers and arm. I clearly expressed these symptoms with Dr. Spirer and questioned if there might be nerve and or tendon injury. He stated he would fit me with a lighter weight wrist brace (because I told him current brace was "pinching" my wrist) and instructed me to continue on current regiment of ice and prescription Advil for another week. At this point I asked him at what point would he consider getting an MRI. He went crazy angry! He started lecturing me about the horrible state of the US health care and unnecessary testing. He told me to get out of his office. Two days later I was sent to a hand… specialist. He took one look at the x-ray and saw that I have fractured my scaphoid bone. Bottom line don't go to Dr Spirer and if you are forced to see him don't be afraid to question treatment options.

This is one of the most un-professional doctor in the Miami area.
