Dr. Richard Anthony Suarez Murias

The first dentist I've ever had who provided cleanings with no pain. Great work and very conscientious!

What a great dentist! He is and has been my dentist for years and he’s very dependable. Thank you Dr. Murias!

I will start by saying I came in for a preliminary visit and general cleaning today and the assistants made it all worthwhile. (Thank you Megan and Haley!!) As for Dr. Murias, I sensed a high degree of unprofessionalism in the way he spoke to me as well as his assistants. He has taught his assistants to read his clients pamphlets instead of handing them out, which I found demeaning. He speaks as though his clients are of low IQ. I will also add that he never introduced himself to me, which as a new client, I expected. He did not ask anything about my brushing habits, what kind of toothbrush I use, what products I use, oral rinses, nothing. He made little to no eye contact with me, and his response to “mild gingivitis” was to tell me to go see a doctor, because, since I bled, I could have leukemia. There was no explanation as to why he said that, or further suggestion. Everything he told me, I either already knew, or could figure out by using common sense. The way he spoke to and… treated his assistants was disgraceful. For two girls who have both just started with him, and are still learning the ways that his practice works, his impatience and suspected obsessive perfectionism were the only response they received. When one of the assistants would make a very minor mistake, it would be accompanied by Dr. Murias’ huffing and sighing as though his practice was on the line or documentation was going to be completely ruined. There was not one gesture or comment thanking his assistants for doing a job well done. When he asked for bite wings for x rays, his assistant brought in just that. However, he told her that she was wrong and he didn’t say that, instead implied that he said bite wing holders, to which there was another sigh and the shaking of his head. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes a few times in that chair. I will also add that I’ve never had a more painful cleaning in my life as pieces of my gums are hanging off from being cut by his tools. I give props to the girls working for Dr. Murias as they are two very bright-minded, hard working women, who unfortunately have to deal with his impatience and belittlement on a daily basis. They deserve much more praise than they are more than likely given. As for Dr. Murias, there needs to be some professionalism added to his direct practice as a dentist.

Rude to staff, didn't treat my problems. He did a quick fix on one tooth and ignored another tooth that he knew was a problem. I ended up having to seek dental work elsewhere a month later and had to have $5000 worth of work done when this quack told me I needed only one filling. He doesn't know what he's doing, he had to look up medications to use to treat me when I was pregnant and then when I was nursing. His staff were very nice but he was not nice to them. If he acted that way in front of a patient God only knows how he treats them when they're alone. My husband was also displeased with him. We took our 2 year old as well and he was great with him but there was nothing about the office to really appeal to a child the way the pediatric dental offices in the area do. I'll never go back to this terrible man and I would never recommend him to anyone else.
