Dr. Richard B Tancer, DO

Due to his location and occasional willingness to make house calls for my disabled bedridden sister, my family had put up with this terrible man for over 15 years. He has horrible bedside manner, is dismissive with you unless you bring up a subject he is interested unrelated to why you are calling on him. If you go to the office and he sees you sitting there he will ignore you. If you have a simple question he will not take the time to answer you if he is in one of his frequent tizzies. He is unable to hold onto staff to answer his phones or assist him because of how demeaning he is to them. Because of this any lab work you are waiting for you will only get an answer for if you keep calling him again and again. Then he rushes you off the phone. He also takes his phone off the hook due to not having staff. If you need a simple prescription renewed like blood pressure pill he wants to see more frequently than need so he can bill your insurance for an office visit. Any paperwork that… you would drop off to be filled out he would lose from time to time in his disorganized office. Medline would frequently not get his faxes for diapers and they would have to keep calling and refaxing. He would consistently seem overwhelmed when you would call on him. This is not a quality you would want for a doctor. I finally found my sister a real doctor who makes house calls, follows up and takes her time, has the proper bedside manner you would expect in a physician. Her staff even has people who answer the phone and takes detailed messages. Imagine that ! You might wonder why the review now. After all the years of enduring this poor excuse of a doctor. Today our new doctor's nurse practitioner called Tancer to get basic information regarding my disabled sisters medical records including baseline A1C number & the reason why he prescribed a drug. He refused to give her anything and was extremely rude to her. She was surprised this man calls himself a doctor. At best Tancer could be called a part-time doctor who works 3 days a week plus one day a week teaching (gasp). Anyone in need a of a doctor should avoid this man at all costs. It might just save your life. I wish my mom got rid of him and found another doctor for her daughter and herself. She might still be alive today if she did. Fortunately my sister and I are both now under the care of real profesional doctors.

I would give him zero stars if I could. He's rude, dismissive, pretentious and impossible to get ahold of. He disregards requests for medication refills and record transfer requests as well as lab result requests. Highly DO NOT recommend.

This DR. Has gone out of his way to help his patients. He will come to his office on his days off. He makes house calls. He has no answering service. All calls to his office are forwarded to his cell. The best DR. I have ever had. Thank You Doc.

He is truley the best Dr. I have ever met. He has been my Dr. For 12 years and is always there for me. He has no answering machine.. when u call him you get him.

Dr. Tancer is fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He's old school and will go out of his way to see you immediately. It's rare if ever that you'll need to wait in the office before seeing him. Overall...he's a five star.

Stay far far away from this doctor he doesn't care about his patients is doesn't care when they are in pain or suffering. He is wierd tactless and plain rude.STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

Sometimes great sometimes not. Depends on his mood. Would like to see less time when he can be really crabby and not complaining about insurance and work hrs.
