Dr. Richard Samuel Veyna, MD

I don’t recommend this doctor, office at all. Waiting for 2 hours and a half for the doctor. This is the first time that I see unorganised doctor office like this. Asking the patient questions that the patient should ask not the doctor.

I was miss diagnosed for almost 2 years about a sacral tumor that was growing and growing and causing me immense pain. Dr. Veyna took one look at my MRI and knew there was a tumor that had to come out. He is so personable, doesn't rush you, listens to you, explains everything, and had my best interest in mind 100%. He was the only doctor that made me feel like I am not making this pain up and I am not crazy. He is knowledgeable and knew that I had a peripheral nerve sheath tumor in my sacrum that was causing all my symptoms and that it had to come out. He made sure during my surgery he had all the best surgeons that could help in case of an emergency and he selected the best general surgeon to be his guide through my lower abdomen and to this awful tumor. He took care of my pain post operatively and made sure I went home as soon as I could. To say that Dr. Veyna is my hero and that I am beyond thankful for him is an understatement. His personality is so laid back but his confidence… radiates (and not in an arrogant way either). I was 110% in the best hands, confident, and so happy with him. I thank God for Dr. Veyna! He gave me my life back after a long 2 years!

Its a good thing I like him as a doctor because his office staff is beyond incompetent.

This man could not tell the truth if his life depended on it. BUYER BEWARE!

Very imprressed with Dr. VENYA. Made me feel comfortable and confident. Now five months later i am back to normal.

Dr Veyna said the incision would be 1" and it was 2" incision did not say maybe it could be longer. On my chart I was allergic to medication and was given it anyway. I got no pain relief, fogginess, confusion and nausea and vomiting. When I told the staff about no pain relief and nausea I was told I was given medication. I stopped all pain medication and just went home I thought I could tough it out. I was given Valium and RObaxin (which is a muscle relaxer) a side effect is insomnia which I got. I called the doctor and he told me he did not know what to do. I did not sleep for 2 months after surgery. I had to go to my pain doctor and internist for help.

Compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled, great bedside manner, reassuring throughout nad best of all honest about the surgery, the recovery time and what I could expect.

Dr. Veyna is a surgeon who really cares about his patients. He is kind, considerate and brilliant. His down to earth attitude makes you feel like you are the most important person in the room, even though you are sitting with one of the most highly skilled surgeons on the planet. He takes the time to explain the diagnosis and answer all questions you have. Dr. Veyna performed a laminectomy and fusion on C2-7 for me, a huge procedure, and I was scared. He put my mind at ease and with his honest answers and caring attitude. He's terrific!

Horrible to make an appt. Waited an hour and 20 min to be treated very disrepectfully by this arrogant Dr who greeted us as boy and girl (we are retired professional's in our 60s) and talked like a 16 yr old using terms like "man" and "no way" we got more information from the cardiologist on the MRI then we did from Dr. Veyna. Thankfully my husband did not need surgery while in the hospital (we waited there for him too) so we do not need to return to this office.
