Dr. Richard Gregg Wilroy JR., DO

If I could have given zero stars, I would... Richard Greeg Gilroy is a menace to any patient who is disabled and educated about their disability. It would be a sin for me to call him a Doctor. If you see this medical provider, I suggest that you record your visit so that you have evidence of his lack of listening skills, insecurities, and professionalism. I was referred to Richard Gregg Wilroy by my primary provider for pain management associated with my disability, Adhesive Arachnoiditis. I have been on Social Security due to this incurable illness since 2009. Due to horrible past experiences with medical professionals, I brought my wife, an RN with over 37 years of experience, to assist me in communicating and as an objective witness. When Wilroy walked in, he first said, "I have no idea why you're here; I have no information on you, so what's going on." Red flags started waving immediately because I knew my provider had submitted a referral, and I arrived 15 minutes early to… complete the new patient paperwork. I explained that I have Adhesive Arachnoiditis and other injuries from a recent boat accident. I handed him my medical records, and he dismissed them, saying, "This is what lawyers are interested in; I don't need to see this." He asked me about my pain, what medications I had taken, and what did and didn't work for me. I told him about all of the non-opioids and the opioids I was prescribed in the past, and he stated that because I was not on any opioids currently, he did not feel comfortable prescribing them to me. When I stated that I was not asking for opioids and that I was only answering the question he asked me, his response was, "I may work in a small town, but that doesn't mean I'm a small-town doctor:" I looked at him in disbelief and responded, "Compared to the town I live in this is a big city, I looked up your experience before I came here and have no issue with your education, experience and the city you work in, I drove over an hour to be here, so I'm not sure why you're saying this to me." He is probably one of the most insecure and inept medical providers I have ever had the displeasure to visit. I had spinal surgery when I was 15 and am now 59, so I have seen many medical professionals. He prescribed me a couple of medications, and when I followed up with my provider, she asked me about my experience. I shared my experience; my wife explained how appalled she was at his lack of professionalism. I told her that besides his apparent personality disorders, I would follow his recommendations and see how it goes. She asked me about the medications he prescribed, and when I pulled out the bottles and showed them to her, she said, "I thought you said you didn't tolerate Cymbalta well." I affirmed this, and she held the bottle up and said, "This is generic for Cymbalta." At that moment, I knew that Gilroy was the wrong medical provider for me and that he should not be trusted with the care of a goldfish, let alone a human being. Patient Beware!

I never even got to a visit, my Dr called to refer me for him to tell her he can't help me. Every Dr I have been to tells me I need to go to pain management for my fibromyalgia yet the pain management Dr apparently isn't equipped to truly help people.

Much better experience since he relocated to Morrill County. Very easy to make an appointment. He spends alot of time answering my questions. Discussed many options with me

Superb situational understanding to my needs

How does a pain dr switch from morphine to a Fentayl Patch? Do they not check the pharmacy to see if any other physicians prescribed the patient medications. I thought as a pain Dr, they get them off the medications, not give them what they want with a few tears. Shameful!!

Has know idea what he is doing. He needs to read patient medical records before he makes decision on what's going on. Should not be allowed to treat patients.

I am really upset with DrWilroy. How can you keep giving a patient Moriphne, and switching them to another higher opioid, when you know they are addicted to pain meds. Really!!! I thought pain management was to help them with the pain not load them up on more opioids. Do you not check there pharmacy to see if maybe they are getting drugs from there physicians. Eventually this person will overdose and then you will have a lawsuit on your hands!!!

We love Dr.Wilroy. We started our journey in Denver, Loveland and Fort Collins. We had terrible experiences with each location so decided to give the local doctors a try. Dr. Wilroy exceeded all expectations. He has fantastic bedside manner and is knowledgable about pain management. He and his office are always responsive to inquiries and follow up! Thank you!!!!!

Dr. Wilroy is the only practitioner that I want to do joint and nerve injections. Bedside manner is excellent. I will recommend him to everyone.

Upon entering the room he states that he's been called an a__H___ before and it doesn't bother him, it should! He doesn't listen to what you have to say! He puts other health professionals down, even those with more training than him. I left his office feeling TERRIBLE about myself! I thought you were supposed to go to the doctor to feel BETTER, not WORSE!
