Dr. Rick Brian Delamarter, MD

I was able to return to work full time for about six years. After that I started having problems with adjacent discs and had to get cortizone injections frequently. The doctor is great, and I did better for longer than other patients I hear from. People are not like cars and every case if different. If you go into it with the attitude that half of it depends on you, your overall health and your ability to push though the healing process, you have the best shot with the best surgeon. I hope if I need more surgery he is not retired yet. When I was there he was giving a lot of time to teaching young doctors.

Dr Delamarter is the best he saved my life. When 4 other Doctors told me they could not see anything worng. From a other Doctors L.4.5 with hardware all came loss. It was Dr.Delamarter that could see what 4 other Doctors could not. Thank God for Dr. Delamarter.

1 star overly expensive and surgery was unsuccessful

Dr Delamarter performed a 2 level lumbar fusion and a 2 level lumbar disc replacement surgery in 2012. I live in Oregon and came to LA for the surgery. My recovery and healing time was about 12-13 months. Currently I am pain free most of the time and have near normal mobility. I swim every day. Walk 4-5 miles 5 days each week. Having this surgery was the best decision ever made and I assure you I was extremely cautious about any surgeon doing this work. Also, I found Dr Delamarter to be very professional,courteous and responsive to my care. I was in the hospital 7 days and he visited me every day and on Saturday and Sunday. As to other reviews here that are negative I ask people to read between the lines.

I read some previous reviews. I know each surgery is each is own. I had total disc replacement surgery L4 L5 in Dec 2008. Dr Delamarter gave my life back. I spent 9 years in total pain. I drove 2 hrs to see him.he was awesome. I have recommended him to my friends and they have had positive results as well. I highly recommend Dr Delamarter.

c1-c2 fusion surgery resulted in screw placed in vertebral artery. never discussed error with me until I became symptomatic but now I cannot reach him.

He did my surgery in 2005. I am still working and now have 25 years in law enforcement.

I am lucky to be alive and walking after this doctor botched 3 surgeries and then refused to believe he made a mistake. If it weren't for another surgeon who believed my pain was real, I would either be dead or paralyzed. Unfortunately, I suffer with pain every day; it is far worse than before the surgeries butchered my body.

Dr. Delamarter is highly respected by doctors and hospital staff. He teaches other doctors how to perform specific complex spinal surgeries. Back operations are not fun, I believe him to be the top back surgeon in the western states of the country. His skills are that of a neurosurgeon and a highly qualified back surgeon all in one doctor. I highly recommend this doctor. Riding down the elevator a neck patient could not say enough good things about Dr. Delamarter. Most of his work is fixing the mistakes of other surgeons. You would be quite lucky to have this doctor evaluate your back/spine/neck. Being wheeled from the operating room to intensive care, I woke up and already knew that he had performed an excellent job on my back.

Mr. Delamarter is not a doctor he is a fraud, especially when he makes mistakes and liars to cover them up on peoples bodies. RUN from him., he is a butcher. All the people who you've disabled should get together and go to the United States Senate to stop you. You destroyed my life with a smile on your face as you took my $ and my family's $. You left me in the hospital, and I almost died, and made me disabled for the rest of my life. Every day I struggle with pain from your ProDisc and your botch job. People run away from this man he is a horror to some, and others come out ok. I forgive him, only because God told me to forgive those who try to destroy me. God Bless Rick...I hope you have it in your heart to return all the money you stole from your patients who were in your ProDisc study 2003. 2004; all of the doctors lied to the FDA about the results You and your friends have left a trail of disabled people across the USA. All for greed and status. God will deal with you… harshly if you don't pay back the ones you lied to, stole from, you hurt one of God's people, and told your staff to lie to the ones you messed up. Lord help you! I will see you being judged and God is going to fight for me. Have fun operating on Kings on earth...Jesus wants to know when your going to care about the poor hard working people you stole from? Stay away from any studies!
