Dr. Rick Alton Marden, MD

Unfortunately I referred my mother to Dr Marden when she came home from Kansas and due to the lack of concern , compassion and pain management I so regret it. My mother ended up with dvt in her leg...very intense pain as well as chronic degenerative disc disease in her back has made for a very uncomfortable summer. After several attempts to request follow up ultrasound and try and get her info and some peace of mind the rn who seems to have great difficulty understanding how follow up care should be just told my mom to go to the emergency room to get her questions answered and they could do a follow-up ultrasound there. Completely unprofessional and myself having worked in the medical field for over 20 years happen to know all about patient dumping . I am sorry to say I am not impressed with the lack of communication and the response time when calling . Always takes several hours and sometimes days without a call back from them. Take your elderly parents and loved one somewhere… more accessible and caring.

Sadly, dr Marden would've made a better lawyer. He lacks empathy. Sympathy. And kindness

Due to this doctor's negligence I now have had chronic Lyme disease for almost a year. He could have prevented it so easily. Two days after being bitten by a deer tick I had a fever of 101 and went to see Dr. Marden. He told me that it was just a coincidence that the fever and tick bite occurred simultaneously and that if it was Lyme I wouldn't have had a stuffy nose. He did not prescribe antibiotics as is recommended. Weeks later after severe illness a lab test came out positive. He finally gave me 30 days worth of Doxycycline but it was too late and the Lyme had gone systemic by then. He refused to administer further antibiotics and told me that the test indicated that the Lyme was not active. I am now under the care of a Lyme specialist in CT.

Overall a great doctor, but appt.s and follow-up can be tough.
