Dr. Ricky Hsu, MD

I have been a patient of this office for 20 years or so. Dr Hsu is a wonderful doctor unfortunately the office , especially the front desk is horribly run. Impossible to get anyone on the phone and nearly impossible to get call backs. To see Dr Hsu himself now takes weeks if not months to get an appointment. Since the AHF has merged with his practice it seems the patient load has increased dramatically. Longer wait times to see the doctor or NP. It's unfortunate.

Doctor Ricky Hsu csres nothing about his patients just the money he makes off of them. I would never reccomend him or his practice to my worse enemy. Do not call or visit this guy, youll feel like a product not a person. Horrible.

This is really for the NCP. Dr Hsu is rarely seen. He follows up with his staff regarding your health, but sees you personally once a year. At least that's the case for me.

I was a patient of Ricky Hsu for ten years. I initially was seen by Ricky, who was exceptional. He was very understanding, nonjudgemental, and overall a good clinician. Over the years however, he has allowed his practice to swell, to the point of adding 3 nurse practitioners to handle the work load. I was unceremoniously passed on to one of the NP's, without any discussion or explanation, and it was downhill from there. The focus of this practice is like an automobile assembly line. They overbook daily, expect you to arrive precisely on-time for appointments, have the nerve to chastise you if you're more than five-minutes late, and then are indifferent, oblivious, and unapologetic when you inevitably wait for easily an hour or more past the scheduled time to see your practitioner. Dr. Hsu is clearly more interested in adding more patients which cannot be managed within the physical space of the office and beyond the capabilities of his staff. The receptionists are… incredibly rude and unprofessional. Consider yourself lucky to get a live person on the phone when calling, voicemails go unanswered. While in the waiting room, I would hear them discussing confidential patient information, including my own, within earshot of anyone. They have no discretion or tact in their interactions. The nurse is surly, and would make inappropriate comments and advances which would make anyone feel uncomfortable. Unacceptable. They implemented a policy of requiring all patients to maintain a credit card on file, with the explanation of that if your insurance didn't cover a procedure, they would automatically charge your card on file, instead of sending a bill or explanation. It lends the impression they are more interested in making money and operating as a business than being advocates for patient's health and well-being. Often, the 6 chair waiting room, the size of a closet, would be overrun by pharmaceutical reps vying for the attention Dr. Hsu and the practitioners. The reps would buy lunch for the entire staff and were obviously influential in the approach and treatment each practitioner, including Dr. Hsu, would use in their diagnoses. Overall, this practice has been declining over the years. The quality of care and compassion towards patients has become nonexistent.

Dr. Hsu's office is amazing. The receptionists are caring and diligent. The two Eric's(N.P.) are so well versed in blood disorders. They are caring, and know exactly what to prescribe when one needs medication. Yoahny one of the nurses is so caring. Never hurts you when taking blood and she is always there with a smile. Miguel is cool as well. They offer vitamins through intravenous which gives one energy and more. They are an amazing team of people.

I never met the man. I did meet his nurse practitioner. I have no idea if my case was followed by a true MD. Also, over the past 3 years, the office has gotten more and more crowded and the NP and nurses just look plain frazzled. This is a business through and through. No compassion here--there's no time for compassion.

Ricky has been my doctor for more years than I can count. He has an easy way about listening, hearing and rightly making recommendations along with his diagnosis. In simple English, he is great.

Dr. Hsu is an amazing doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and he truly cares about his patients. Everyone in his office is extremely kind and courteous as well!
