Dr. Riggs Bailey Roberts, MD

Please know that this review is based on Dr. Robert's practice and in no way reflects his abilities to care for and provide Psychiatric Care. His receptionist declined accepting me as a patient for the following reasons: -She doesn't want to do the bookwork for a cash-paying patient -She assumed that because I'm currently under care that I wouldn't be willing or able to switch -She insensitively told me that the doctor doesn't want to take on a patient where he has to manage their medication. -She violated confidentiality and patient privacy by insisting that I inform her of what medication I'm on. -She told me that she doesn't want to extra work of having a patient that may or may not fit his practice based on her assumptions. -She took five days to return a call for an appointment request. -She said to call after one month for care not because of scheduling but because it makes her life easier. I'm astounded. I know help is hard to get, but, imagine a business turning down… $1000+ per month per patient. That's $12000/year. If she turns down 100 patients per year or 10 patients per month she's turning down the potential of increasing the pratice by more than $1,000,000. What a luxury it must be to turn away a million in business because it generates too much work for your receptionist. Furthermore, Dr. Robert's expertise seems to be such that he might be the perfect fit for a patient like myself. So much for the Hippocratic Oath.

Dr. Roberts has a wealth of knowledge and a simple yet effective formula for ‘no nonsense’ treatment. At my deepest, darkest point, through a proper chemical balance and therapy, Dr. Roberts helped bring me back to life. In an eccentric way, his approach exemplifies the spirt of Aloha. Thank you, Doctor.

Unfortunately Dr. Riggs-Roberts and his office assistant of 15 years (Gina) are extremely unprofessional. The office is FILTHY, and in my professional opinion- should be shut down by the health department. Furthermore, Dr. Riggs-Robert’s and his assistants phone etiquette, their lack of communication between one another, and their communication with their clients is juvenile. If you are dealing with any mental health issues- anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, Bi-Polar, DID, etc., etc., GO elsewhere! There are real therapists and doctors on Maui who care for their patients, unfortunately Dr. Riggs-Roberts and his “staff” are not apart of that group.

Always on time, takes his time, very caring, good counceling

I saw Dr Roberts for a couple years. The knowledge he passed on to me has continued to have an incredibly positive influence on my life ever since. Over a decade later, I am still using the knowledge he gave me on a daily basis. I'm so thankful for people like him who take their intellect, and use it to help people rather than to gain power or line their own wallets. Dr Roberts was a great role model for me.

He is crazier than his patients and a terrible therapist.

Honest, trustworthy, compassionate a total PROFESSIONAL he helped me through 2 years after very tragic incident in my life. I could not have made it without his frank, objective counseling.

This Dr. Riggs Roberts is the only psychiatrist who has ever prescribed me the RIGHT medications that I needed. After a decade of trying different types of medications, he took the time to actually have a conversation with me and listen to how each medication in the past has affected me. Dr. Roberts also intergrates counseling into each of his sessions. By doing so, this helps to direct me into a different way of thinking, which enables me to see my life and experiences in a different more optimistic light.

This Dr is dangerous. He overmedicates people to addict them to powerful "legal" drugs simply to ensure they return visit after visit while he makes money hand over fist. He has no integrity. Myself am a victim of his negligence. I have also met others who have fallen victim to his abusive prescribing ways. Anyone that supports his methods is of poor judgement and likely become dependent on this quack to prescribe their medications. Do not be fooled by the Harvard degree, there are criminals in very walk of life and this "dr" is a criminal. Stay clear of this one. God bless you all who seek help, it is out there, just avoid this one like the plague.

I have to take exception with the bad reviews written here - - obviously from newer patients still lashing out at the world, unwilling to do the psychological heavy lifting required for self-improvement. For those willing to endure psychological boot camp and actually get better, Dr. Roberts is the best of the best!
