Dr. Reem Hasan, MD

I've been seeing endocrinology all my life for my T1D. My previous doctor was very quick and would look at my numbers, write me a script, and move on. There was not much time for talking and communication with their office was difficult. After he retired, I came to see Dr. Hasan and at my first visit she spent nearly a whole hour just listening to me and actually did a physical exam on me. I can't recall a doctor palpating my thyroid since I was at the pediatric hospital! She reviewed my glucose numbers, ordered labs, and explained different plans and included me in the decision of which way I wanted my care to go. I left her office feeling like she genuinely cared and that she devoted time and thought to understanding my individual situation. After my labs were resulted, she followed up with me and we made adjustments regularly via telephone or mychart. My glucose improved and with her help in stabilizing my blood sugar control she managed cut my daily insulin intake from 130… units a day to 50. This helped me lose 53lbs in a year. She refuses to take credit for this achievement but truth be told without her intervention and suggestions none of this would be possible. I am very pleased and happily surprised that I found an endocrinologist that listens, is up to date, and as compassionate as she.

Continuously messed up my paperwork for my insurance. They actually stayed and I test twice a day but take insulin four times a day? What about the other two times do I just do it without testing? They blew my insurance coverage with this statement that I test twice but take insulin four times. I guess that third and fourth time I do 50 units of humalog and hope for the best
